The_Bumble_BardParticipant@Andrew, yay! I’m so excited for that already! The first two are already really great. ππ
C-Davy Shans always creates great clawhammer arrs. Just as good as Matty D’s and Drew Dizzle’s…
(Those nicknames popped into my head, and I felt the need to unburden myself, whilst simultaneously burdening others with that… π π)

Participant@annemarie Thanks! No, I play the theme as taught by Steven on my regular tenor uke, and the bass part I came up with on my new bass uke. The latter is quite fascinating, as it’s really tiny compared to a regular bass guitar, or even a double bass, but has the same tuning and same notes, so any regular bass instruction book or video tutorial can be used to learn how to play it.
Most bass ukes have these superthick rubber strings, but the one I picked up, a Fender Fullerton Precision Bass Uke, has metal wound strings (they call them nickel wrapped nylon core), which are thinner and feel more like regular guitar or bass guitar strings. Luckily I was able to try out both versions in my local store, and I liked the one with the wound strings much better than the thick rubber strings.August 20, 2024 at 10:20 am #63241misterbones
ParticipantActually I’m not even sure why they call these things bass ukes, they don’t have anything in common at all with an ukulele of any kind, they’re really just super-short-scale bass guitars.

gi_gi_Participant@the_bumble_bard Hahahaha ππ€£ππ€£πππππ€£ C-Davy Shans, Matty D, and Drew Dizzle is hilarious πππ€£πππ€£πππ€£
@misterbones cool new toy. It’s purty. I’m considering a Baritone. I will wait a while to get it but the seed is planted πAugust 20, 2024 at 11:53 am #63243
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@gi_gi_ hahaha!!! I was waiting for you to see that, but wanted you to find it organically on your own. π π π ππ It’s like those celebrity nicknames, “T-Shams” for TimothΓ©e Chalamet and “J-Law” for Jennifer Lawrence. I really like that. π π πππ

katazumiriParticipantHello everyone!
Here is my attempt with β βIβll Be There for Youβ.
I didn’t manage to do it in 53 seconds, but the number of bars stayed the same πI liked the cover version by Eastern Duo Feat. Ayala Fossfeld; I borrowed some ideas from there.
Have a nice day!

The_Bumble_BardParticipant@gi_gi_ π π π πππ I love how quickly things spiral with us with these things! π π
@katazumiri, that was really amazing! I love the combination of instruments you chose, the harmonica worked so well with that. The “cup beat” you did, my sister and I used to play that game as kids and also Anna Kendrick (is that her name?) sang a song with that rhythm in the movie Pitch Perfect. π π That worked so well with that song! Well done! π
@shmu88, that was perf! The strumming sounded especially nice with your take! πI feel like I’m running out of time to share an entry, hopefully I can pull something together soon. ππ π₯Ίπ³

@shmu88 nice. It was so difficult to move up the neck and back⦠nicely done
@katazumiri I was mesmerized by your cup timing! Great playing all those parts. You are a one-woman show!August 21, 2024 at 6:10 pm #63259
AndrewKeymaster@katazumiri – This was so creatively amazing Lena! Def gonna share it in this week’s email π
@shmu88 – Great feel throughout, very well played Sam!August 22, 2024 at 12:12 pm #63338
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@leb397, hahaha!! I’m so happy about that. π π π These are the productive things my brain likes to think about sometimes. I’m most proud of C-Davy Shans. π I didn’t come up with Matty D, I randomly heard Aldrine Guerrero call Matt that once when he was a guest on their podcast and that stuck in my brain. Drew Dizzle is obvious, but also that “celebrity name formula” doesn’t apply as well to his name or Stephen’s. ππ³ Stephen’s could just be Stevie Cox (it has to have a “v” in that version to sound right). Oh! It could be Stevie Boi C. Yep. That’s it. π ππ
