@leb397, I looooovvvveded that, friend, so beautiful! I loved your playthrough of Matt’s OG version and that lovely banjouke version! Those were both so sweet and made me smile! 😊 I think actually that’s almost the exact same thing I did with my finger picking playthrough (not my clawhammer version) which is pretty amazing. I tried to listen very carefully to the different versions everyone did, and yours sounds the most similar mine (the same pattern), but sounds even cooler on your banjolele! Lovely playing, looking forward to more banjouke-ing from you! 😊❤️

And oh and thank you for liking my clawhammer version so far, I need to smooth it out for sure but I actually like that it’s half time as @misterbones pointed out. I am okay with my clawhammer being slower and at times less clawhammer-y, but I still might try his faster, more rhythmically consistent version though. 😅

I also really loved all the other takes of that tune, and everyone else’s entries, everyone is doing so amazing so far!! 🎄🎆🎇❤️💚❄️🥓🐦👻🥀🤯

I went with “Chopsticks” this month. I recorded this on my concert uke, but I realized that it was a little easier on my tenor for those tricky couple of measures where it goes up to the 10th/14th fret and 12th/15th fret. The tenor’s fret spaces are larger on the higher frets and more room for fingers. 🙂 This song taught me a new trick with the harmonics in that one measure. Definitely need to practice that more as it is hit-miss on whether I consistently nail the harmonics. Theme 2 is prettier and fun to play. When I was practicing, I did that Theme 2 section over and over waltzing around the floor – haha. I feel like I am having an easier time with memorizing the songs now and can play (a little) better when I’m not glued to the sheet music. Every little bit helps!

Great job everyone – such a joy to see what everyone is working on and your progress every month.
