katazumiriParticipantHello everyone!
Here is my attempt. I chose Magic Uklele Waltz.
I read that Roy Smeck performed in a variety show and thought I could imagine this waltz as background music for a variety show or circus act. 🎪🤡🎈
My version is slow 90 bpm, I wanted to play it as a band (marimba, which is not visible but can be heard, was played by computer).Have a nice day!

grannieannieParticipant@katazumiri – I love how you add extra layers to your pieces! Can definitely imagine watching a circus act with this in the background.

lhamiltonParticipantHi,
This month I worked on the Magic Ukulele Waltz. I’m nervous about parts C and D and it definitely shows. I also inadvertently put in a repeat of A at the end but left it alone.
I’ve recorded onto my macbook from the iRig and put the video together with iMovie. I’m still not very good at matching up the sound with the video so left the tapping part in for safety. I discovered that I can’t record if the macbook is plugged in — otherwise I get an unremoveable hum throughout the recording.

grannieannieParticipantWell, piffle . . . when practising Blue Skies, I didn’t repeat Melody A, wanting to give both A and B parts equal time. Then almost at the end of recording the song, I remembered the repeat, but a client/patron of our little community library, where I was volunteering, came in, so I didn’t have time to try again. Oh well, two-thirds of a submission is better than none.
I wanted to use rubato and dynamics to add some feeling to this but didn’t want to go overboard, so I’m not hearing much actual feeling. Something to work on.
Please exclude my name from the draw this month.

AndrewKeymaster@misterbones – I love the sound of it on the banjolele! And I dig the swing feel too! Excellent playing, Michael!
@katazumiri – That was so cool! I love how creatively talented you are Lena!
@lhamilton – The end of the D Melody was def the hardest part for me! So many barre chords lol 😂You nailed the feel of the piece and it was a pleasure to listen to Linda!
@grannieannie – Your playing had a soft, sweet feel, which really suits the piece. The only thing I’d adjust is the double stops, try plucking those just a touch softer. If you listen back and compare them to the rest of the piece, you’ll hear what I mean. You paced it beautifully! It sounded natural and pretty. Well done this month, Annie!

keeevoMemberHi everyone,
This month I worked on Magic Ukulele Waltz. You were not kidding that those barre chords are difficult! I will still be working on getting the hang of those.
