    @mickan88 What a lovely tune you played – and such beautiful scenery too!

    @alojzy_bomba That was super cool — love the cheeky Pink Panther sneaking in the background!

    It’s been a busy summer, but I finally took on a classical piece I’ve been wanting to learn for a while: Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Still working on smoothing out the chord transitions and making the dynamics more even, but it’s been a rewarding challenge!

    Black Hole Sun this month! Love this arrangement, had so much fun picking it up now and again since it was released here. Now have the motivation to learn it in full – needs a bit of polishing and tightening – but probably won’t have more time before 31st July to record.

    Great to see RC101 reach the milestone of 100 challenges – really improved my playing to have these goals – and looking forward to being part of future ones.

    Hi Everyone!

    I’ve enjoyed listening to the wide variety of entries so far this month! I chose to work on Norwegian Wood for practice with stretch chords. I found that I was able to hit the melody note with my pinky often, but I sometimes felt that it locked up a little bit when moving back/between chords making some of the fast changes difficult. I’m not sure if there is a solution to that (more practice? different form? hand exercises?) or joint problems are something I need to accommodate for as I get older. Any tips would be appreciated!

    @Andrew Thank you so much! 😁 Your comment made my day. 😊

    @grannieannie
    It definitely is kind of freeing! I was still feeling very nervous.
    But I don’t know if I would have submitted this take if there had been more mistakes in it. I’m glad it worked out so well. 😅 And yes, we shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves.

    @alojzy_bomba – Dude, that was awesome! This is a very hard arr. to play with all the crazy rhythm and percussive elements, and you did amazing! The video backdrop was a nice touch too. Well done! 👏

    @nelsonlin2021
    – Really well played Nelson! My one suggestion would be to play the first half at the tempo you did the second half at. A slower tempo gives the music more room to breathe and enhances the prettiness of the melody and harmony IMO.

    @lhamilton
    – Lovely performance Linda! The only thing I’d do is target your practice on the B Melody, focusing on smoothing and cleaning it up. But, it doesn’t sound like it will take much work, cause you’re already playing it very well, this is more like fine tuning it 🙂

    @ccwuke
    – Bravo Chris! You played it with great feel, very well done! 👏

    @henri0
    – I thought you nailed it! Incredible performance Rhian!!

    @anyon1
    – Beautifully played Adriana! For the pinky, it might be due to how you’re holding the uke. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks like there’s a gap between the body of the uke and your body. If you press it against your body and reduce the angle it’s pointing upward, that should put the neck in a more optimal fretting/playing position. I’d also recommend sitting on a firm chair. With a bed, we sink in, and that also will affect our posture when holding the uke.

    Below’s a video I made on proper holding technique. I’ll also paste additional lessons that touch on this topic. Here is the first and second lesson I recommend reviewing.

    With proper holding form intact, I’d then run exercises to strengthen your pinky. These are a few I wrote specifically for stretch chords, but you could also modify this exercise to reach beyond the 4 adjacent frets.

    Thanks, @Andrew! Yes the B section still wasn’t as firm as I’d have liked. I’ll keep on with it — I’m fond of the arrangement.

    I have a Yorkie who is a very slow and picky eater. He eats better though when serenaded — so I find his dinner-time a good chance to play recent ukulele favourites.

    @alojzy_bomba
    That was a killer performance. Wow 🤯

    @nelsonlin2021
    That was nice. Did you win that bamboo uke if I remember correctly? Nice to see you still enjoying it.

    Wow, what great posts this month! It’s been a pleasure listening through to this point.

    @henri0
    I’m so glad you chose “Black Hole Sun” too – and how impressive the result is. I love the little chucks in the verse and all the dynamics – great!

    @Johanna2509
    It’s nice to hear “Hope” again. That was the first song I ever learned at Rockclass, a while before I became a member. Because the song has everything, from hamper-ons and pull-offs, slides, and movement across the entire fingerboard, it’s become part of my warm-up. You played it really beautifully.

    & Thank you @gi_gi_

    It’s time………… I basically picked first song in the RC library. But I loved the challenge of each technique. My pinky and ring got a workout . I really like the way Christopher teaches the 12th Street Rag. I might note he plays it at 175bpm and I think I may have gotten to 65bpm, yikes! Like many on this months challenge, I decided to take the best of my first few takes. All too often I stress over my entry and this one was just plain fun to play. Thanks @andrew and Christopher.
