jbmills07ParticipantHope everyone is doing well out there! This month I went with “shake it off” by taylor swift. I felt like learning something I wouldn’t normally and thought it would be a good way to practice slides and pull off’s as well.

I’ve been unable to play uke much recently because of pain (likely arthritis) in my hands & shoulders but I really wanted to participate this month even though it probably sounds like I’m getting worse, not better. 😂 I really loved this piece as soon as I heard it, particularly the B melody. Thank you Andrew. Here’s my imperfect rendition of “Maybe I’m Still Amazed”.

Hi All – I learned “Rainbow Connection” this month. I was going to also sing it for you, but…nah! LOL. I enjoyed learning this one – fun. Good job everyone!

ParticipantI wasn’t going to post but I told myself when I signed up for rock class that I had to post for the monthly contests. There are reasons I didnt spend the time I should have but that isn’t important (health), I didn’t spend the time I needed and this is beyond rough, I dont think I probably should be counted in the drawing for this month. I want to continue with this piece because I would like to play it. When I do think I get it down better I will make another posting for feedback in the future (there isn’t much point in doing this one at this stage). It’s about half speed, I found out I need to work on chord changes and make them so they are done by muscle memory (I had a bad time of even going to G chord without muting). I found I really need to work on my arching and finger placement because the thunking/muting is terrible. It did show me that I need to work a lot now. Thank you for putting up this lesson.

jody_hendricksonParticipantHi all,
As a Severance fanatic, this month I just had to tackle the Severance theme. Thanks to Steven for the fun arrangement, and thank Kier.

ParticipantFun to hear everyone’s chosen pieces. I decided to keep with the summertime theme and picked Summertime Blues. As usual, I wish I had practiced more.

gi_gi_Participant@otzepeng I didn’t know how to work it. I just put every piece in place. Everything turned green automatically and I just pressed record on my phone. I wish I would’ve figured out how to do noise cancellation. Any tips? Thanks.
@jobarjo454 Wow. You play like a pro. Nice performance.
@nat-uke What a beautiful song. Very nice.August 1, 2025 at 7:45 am #75148
otzepengParticipant@gi_gi_ I thought that the green light stands for “noise cancelling” .. but, no matter – the sound of the recording was great. 🤗

leb397ParticipantWow what a variety. It really showcased the different songs RC has in the library. So impressive.
Great entries but a few comments mostly because I love the song selection.
@bibilele so pretty, River runs, love it.
@dianna one of my favs, freight train, well done and yes a cool arrangement.
@leihali such a moving song, lovely. @janaq1 beautiful. I mentioned in different post our Uke group has learned various Hawaiian tunes this month and your Aloha Oe is so pretty.
@karenj love your banjo Uke. It’s so fun to play. I have to learn cripple creek. Well done
@Riley_ukulele amazing playing on Scarborough! Impressive
@gi_gi_ love the sound and how lovely that was. I haven’t purchased the mic but think I’m convinced.
@the_bumble_bard you do have a pretty voice and shouldn’t be shy. Your imagination always makes me smile with you puppet rendition ☺️👏 nicely played and thank you for my kudos. Btw I’m sorry about your car. You’ve had your challenges and loss this year. I wish for you smoother times to come. Keep strumming (I know your least fav) but do it well. As Matt’s lesson, focus on our strengths.
Well done friends 👍👏👍👏👍👏👍❤️-

grannieannieParticipantEveryone’s entries were great this month, and I can only echo @The_Bumble_Bard’s positive comments. But I do have to mention one entrant in particular:
@abster: You are a remarkable player! One day I expect to be taking lessons from you.August 1, 2025 at 4:44 pm #75157 -
