Here is my September Challenge submission of Hone A Ka Wai. There’s some tricky fingering in this one and trying to get a clean take with the harmonic was a bit of a stretch for me, but this is the best of my million takes. I am still plugging away with the Pathways modules and am liking them very much. I’m looking forward to catching up on other’s submissions. Hope you are all well.Take Care,

Hello Uke Friends! I chose the Harmonizing Chords piece for this month. The lesson was a wonderful way to begin exploring how chord shapes can be used to play chords higher up on the neck, as well as adding interesting harmonies. It was amazing to begin to understand and apply the caged method. Thanks, Andrew!

patizonParticipantMysticrick, Thank you very much for your words. I am truly thrilled to be a member of RC101 these days, even though I live somewhere in the middle of Europe:)

ParticipantHi everyone! This month I practiced the Travis Picking Etude (Unit 9, Song 7).
Even though it’s a simple repeating pattern, I still have to watch my fingers because I keep getting them tangled up in the strings. 🙂
So, thanks for this lesson!

heike_ukeParticipantHi Ukulele fans,
I watched all videos. It was a pleasure to see all of your entries. Great job.
I choose the travis picking etude this month.
I am not entirely satisfied with it but this is the best I have so far.September 30, 2026 at 2:36 pm #84470

ParticipantHi everyone!
Here’s my submission for this month’s challenge: the third lesson from the beginner series, Strumming and Adding a Backbeat. 🙂
It’s a relatively simple piece, but it still gave me plenty of challenges and a few things to be nervous about while recording! 😀
As always, I somehow managed to reach the last week of the month with the completely unrealistic feeling that I still had plenty of time left to practice. Apparently, my calendar and I have slightly different ideas about how long a month is. 😀 Somehow, there’s always one more week I feel I could really use…
Anyway, here it is. Not perfect, but another little step forward and that’s what these challenges are all about for me.
Thanks for listening, and happy playing everyone!

mysticrickParticipant@heike_uke and @takuan wonderful Travis studies from both of you. It is interesting to see both the 3 finger and 4 finger approach to Right Hand Technique. Bravo.

maryjanewParticipantI’ve been working on different strumming lessons in Mod.1 but just didn’t have enough time to spend on the lessons. Today, I made a video while practicing on my lunch break, in my car! It’s horrible but it’s as far as I got with the “chunking etude” lesson. The other ones were worse! 😜 It will come along as I practice more.
Thanks RC101September 30, 2026 at 6:57 pm #84475rgillof
ParticipantGood to hear everyone’s choices this month. I went with Harmonizing C Major (Concept Lessons EP002). Fastest I could get in a month is at 75% and even that was pushing it. Interesting to hear the variations Andrew has done with harmonizing chords.

Hi everyone,
Working through the course I am discovering many things I find difficult. As proof, here is my attempt at Fingerpicking Etude 29 teaching me how to syncopate. Difficult, so apologies about the lousy performance.

ParticipantAndrew, here is the video of me playing Aura Lee on my Low G ukulele.
I know it’s for beginners, but I found it challenging and finally got a version that I felt I could send you. Still practicing!
Thank you!
