    @the_bumble_bard I’m very pleased that you liked it.

    There are a few „yes and no“ about the “cup beat”…

    No: the “cup beat” is not the same as in the film with Anna Kendrik.
    Yes: both songs are in 4/4.
    Yes: both “cup beats” consist of 2 bars.
    No: the rhythmic pattern of the first measure is not the same (see attachment).
    Yes: the rhythmic pattern of the second measure is the same.
    No: the movements of the hands and the cup in the second measure are not the same.
    Yes: Either of these two “cup beats” will work with either of these two songs.

    @katazumiri, really neat and interesting! Why did you choose to modify the beat? So, I sensed immediately that the “cup beat” / motions were different because there is a game that goes along with that beat that my sister and friends and I used to play as kids. Obviously, after seeing your video, I had to try it and it turns out that information was stored away perfectly in my brain because I could still do the beat / motions. 😅 Guess I know what we’re doing at the party this weekend (’cause we’re adults and still play silly games like that, but also my young niece will likely want to learn it). 😅😂😅 Thank you for explaining that and also for the trip down memory lane! 😅💗

    Hi,

    Book ’em Danno ! Here’s my recording of Hawaii Five-O. A few mistakes, but its the best I can do for now. No entry for the prize draw this month for me please.

    Good day Rockclass

    Thank you for the easy-to-follow lessons. For me, it was clear that I would choose Hawaii-Five-O theme as this classic, catchy tune reminded me of my childhood days.

    Here is my version of it for the August challenge.

    Cheers

    @ccwuke – Fantastic performance Chris! And I like the ending strums you added. Well done!

    @barbecueblack
    – Very well played! The only suggestion I have is to work on cleaning up bars 9-12. Try looping them in the tab player and gradually bringing them up to speed. That’s probably the trickiest part of this tune, as it jumps up and down the neck.

    @abster
    – Way to go Abster! Always so much fun to watch your performances 🙂

    @annemarie
    – That was awesome Anne! Fingerpicking sounds excellent! From here, I would take one section, like a verse or chorus, and work on keeping it steady. I hear a lil bit of hesitation in some of the transitions. So that’s what I would be targeting in your practice.

    Just 53 secs! Oyvay…….singing and playing is not easy! Also, may have added a bit too much reverb from a new reverb app I found……..but another incredibly busy month……so here goes a cringeworthy attempt at I’ll Be There for You……

    Do not include me in the draw this month…..thank-you Roc101 and especially Ashley…..and congratulations!

    Thank you, Andrew! It was fun to play.
    I’ll definitely work on making it smoother as I think I’d like it to be one of those pieces I can play if someone requests something on the spot!

    It could be better, but I would need,at least ,a couple more months to play it well and smoothly.Great arrangement!!Thank you from a Game Of Thrones fan!!

    Here is my take on Spongebob. It was fun to learn, and pinkie pull-offs are challenging!

    Thanks everyone for the inspiration.

    @marlongas – I thought you played it super smooth! Excellent performance w/ great feel! Couple spots I’d work on. The first 2 hits in bars 35/36, hold those out a lil longer. And I’d practice the transition going into the chorus and the chorus variation. Try to eliminate the gap in time there.

    @jody_hendrickson
    – Spot on with the rhythms, timing, and feel Jody. I’d say you aced it! 🙂

    @annemarie
    – Great plan!
