Great job @Nosferatu! As far as takes, this month, it took me 5 takes for Blue Christmas, last month for Bohemian Rhapsody, over 300.

Good to know that I’m not alone 🙂 Though I usually give up after 8-10 and post whatever is the best.

But it’s hilarious – I practise the song, finally I think I got it, then I turn on the camera and mistake after one or two bars. And then again. And again, and … 🙂

@nosferatu – it really depends on the song and how much I’ve practiced it. It can range from 1 to 20. If I have time, once I get past about 5 tries, I just practice it try to record it the next day. Here are some examples of recent songs. I may have misremembered some.

Greensleeves – 2 takes
Can’t Help Falling in Love – Initially about 5 takes, but then I realised the recording didn’t work, so then another 3 or so.
Sleepwalk – 3 takes
Kemp’s jig – 3 takes

Hi hi

Here is my submission of White Christmas for the December Challenge.

Despite many practices I still have problems switching from Bar 4 to Bar 5 without causing the strings to ring while I lifted up my fingering from D in Bar 4 to change to C in Bar 5 as you will hear it in my recording 😭 Hope it is not to painful to your ears!

Oh… Also wanted to say that is so heartwarming to learn about good organisations like the Ukelele Kids Club. I am so proud of Rockclass101 for supporting it!
(I did my little bit on the UK website.)

Meantime, I wish everyone warmth and happiness and enjoyment in uke playing this festive season.

Learning this was a great way to get into the season. While it’s not perfect, I know, I believe these challenges are helping me make some serious progress.

This was take 26, day 3… so it really comes to about take 76, after about 25 takes things would just start falling apart.

And as always – Thanks to Andrew and everyone at Rockclass 101! It’s been a great year! I’ve learned so much.
