I chose Aura Lee, since it was the only non-holiday song offered.
I enjoyed working on it.
I do recognize that it could use a little more work to make it smoother, but i will be out of the country without my uke the rest of the year so i have to submit my entry early.

Well here I am again, having chosen the more advanced piece to play for the December Monthly Challenge. Possibly not the best choice to have made at what is arguably the busiest time of the year! But then again, challenging ourselves improves our skill set, right? This is an honest look at the frustration that comes with the pressure of trying to get a clean take after what feels like a million tries, even switching out ukuleles hoping that might help. (Spoiler alert, I went back to my first choice.) I’m sure many players will identify with this. Happy I don’t take myself too seriously not to be able to laugh at myself! Thank you, Andrew, and all the wonderful teachers at Rock Class 101 for helping us along on our ukulele journey. I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season with time to play ALL of your ukuleles at least once! Good luck to everyone! I just made a small donation to The Ukulele Kid’s Club. I think it sounds like a wonderful program!
@andrew and all teachers, thank you so much for listening, giving constructive comments and encouragement over the last year. This year was more difficult for me than even my first year. The support and inspiration from everyone in this group helped me to push through hand/finger break and not give up. I noticed a couple of others who experienced similar issues and kept going. Music brings me so much joy and I am so thankful for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful group. Wishing all joy and peace. Keep strumming and picking!!!

Greetings from Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. I’ve just recently discovered RC101 (thanks to member Martha), and look forward to learning a lot. I’ll start with a Premium Membership in January and made a $25 donation to the UKC.
My raffle entry was hastily done, sorry for the irregular timing! I’ve played guitar for decades, and hope some of my bad habits won’t carry over the uke!

Hard to get in one, but the bits I’m choppy on here are a fair reflection of what I need to refine in general! But time to get last minute gifts here, so it may have to wait til the new year (if anyone will tolerate Xmas songs then 😅)
