    I picked Spanish Nights as my challenge for this month, that tune appealed to me instantly as I was listening through the potential candidates. I have to admit it was trickier than I thought it would be. Hardest part was not cramping up from all those continuous barre chords. And boy is it hard to get a clean take of that one without major slip up, especially as the left forerarm gets more and more tense with every repetition, which makes it increasingly difficult to stay relaxed and play cleanly. So I had to force myself to take breaks and overcome the urge to try just one more time for a clean take. Still didn’t manage to get one I was totally happy with, but this is as close as I got.

    Please exclude me from the prize drawing this month. Thanks!

    I have wanted to do Imagine for a long time and decided this was the perfect month to try and really get it down. So that is what I went with. One of my biggest challenges was actually the slide from 1-2-3. I found it very difficult to get consistent, so I found myself spending a large amount of time doing that over and over and over lol. So many amazing performances from all the participants this month, its really cool to watch!

    My song this month is Tonight You Belong to Me. A catchy tune that I finally had a chance to learn. This is about the best I could do with one month, minus a week as I was out of town and could not bring the uke along. It is evident that the effort everyone put in this month, and every month, is significant and is enjoyable to listen to. Looking forward to next month’s challenge.

    Here’s everyone on page 4 I hadn’t gotten to yet.

    @musiclover
    – Well done Mary! Here are my tips for you:

    @userwithauke
    – Very nice fingerpicking and strumming! I have a few tips for you. First, I’m hearing that the riff is played incorrectly. Double check the tab to spot the mistake here. Second, see if you can work on keeping the tempo steady throughout. You want to aim for the riff and the chord section to be played at the exact same tempo, making the transition to and from seamless.

    Third, for the end of the song, your ritardando is very drawn out. Try to make it more gradual, kinda like when the light turns yellow and you gradually slow down to a stop on red.

    @anyon1
    – That was awesome! Might be my fav performance of yours to date, Adriana 🙂

    I agree! We def need more electric tunes, they are super fun!

    @1481632_m – Tempo is spot-on now, Bravo Megan! For the rit., at the end of the tune, I think it’s the opposite from your first take now. I want to hear it a little bit more drawn out. Try playing along with me in the tab player. My playing will act as a guide and help you smooth it out and slow it down in a natural sounding way.

    Enjoyed watching everyone’s performance.

    @planetfink
    beautifully played.

    Like @planetfink, I chose Fly Me to the Moon for my challenge this month. Love the percussive slaps used in this arrangement.

    I decided to learn Malagueña for the February challenge. Still working on consistency and this recording was the best I could get it in one go. I really enjoy the tune so I’ll keep working on it.

    Well, I wanted to learn a more complicated finger style piece that had more TRAVIS picking but I took to long to decide so I had to pick an easier piece. Which is NOT easy for ME. Feb. is always a complicated month for me and I had to complete some Continuing education for my Professional License as well. So I ended up with the lesson for Finger picking Etude #13. I still have LOTS of mistakes but this was my best take out 150😝🤓! Thanks for the lessons Rock Class! I should have skipped this month but I’m trying to be consistent and do a lesson and submit a video EVERY month. We’ll see how far I can make it.😜 I am at my record now, 5 months and counting!

    @gi_gi_ thank you so much for your kind words!!! You are very kind.

    Thanks for your compliment. Do look up that etude. It is a delight to play. And yes, my ukulele is an aNueNue. I found it on Facebook Marketplace. I found a review by Got A Ukulele review and was impressed. I then found a review by RockClass 101’s own Steven Warren on his YouTube channel, and I was sold. It’s my favorite uke! Thanks again!

    Hi all!

    I don’t find much time to practice ukulele at the moment (I’ve started to lose my callouses 😢), but I managed to recorded Matt’s Lullaby for this month today. It is one of my favorite RC101 arrangements and it kinda turned into my warm up routine. After listening to Matt’s performance today, I noticed that I play some sections in a different tempo 😅 In the recording, I tried to stick more to Matt’s version, but that was quite tricky after playing it with different feels and tempos for such a long time 😅

    However, here is my version:

    Malagueña, take 2!
    I decided to relearn Malagueña, one of my favorite arrangements. I first recorded and learned the song 3 years ago, for a monthly member challenge. I decided not to listen to it, and begin relearning. This recording is a little slower, and the B theme, minus a couple misses, has more style and feel, I be;wife in part to the slower tempo. Very interesting to listen to my two takes and their differences, seeing as I learned them both from your video Andrew. Looking forward already to the March challenge, with so many good choices!
