    @leslieb – Great job, Leslie! For the D barre pull-off, make sure your barre is straight and that you’re pressing down with enough force so that each note in the bare (2222) rings out. Especially the 2 on the A string.

    I thought you did really well with all 3 themes. Keep working on the last one, it’s a toughy!

    @Stephen, thank you so much! I will try all that and also try not to react to my mistakes out loud / narrate them. ๐Ÿ˜… That kind of strummin’ is so tricky along with the muted strings and things. Thank you! So fun to read through the feedback and see everyone’s amazing entries. ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Love Under the Boardwalk and hope I can play it someday. Switched to Drunken Sailor and part C is a struggle. Found my own way to mute the G string… maybe not the best… WE ALL know how much time we spend trying to get a video without mistakes ๐Ÿ™ SO here it is. Drunken Sailor.
    Enjoying all the entries! I’ll post more because so many have done wonderful job.

    Hereโ€™s under the boardwalk. Lots of flubs but I had to submit this duet with my partner Miss Pearl the beagle.

    @leb397 – Bravo, Louisa! Excellent job on all 3 themes! There’s 2 things I’d suggest working on as you continue practicing. First, work on cleaning up the D barre pull-off using the same advice I left a few posts above for @leslieb. Second, focus on keeping the tempo steady in the third theme.

    I have to say, I was very impressed with your performance! It shows you put a lot of work into this tune and it sounded awesome!

    @mark1256
    – Love the duet, Mark! ๐Ÿ™‚ You did a great job on this tune. Only thing I’d keep working on is keeping the tempo a little more steady. But it doesn’t sound like it will take much work to get it perfect. Keep up the great work!

    @leb397, oh em gee, that was so good! I love how you muted the string for the third theme, that was clever indeed! Imma hafta try that. Agreed with Andrew, really well done. ๐Ÿ˜Š

    @mark1256
    , that was so beautiful! Beagleful, too. Was she kinda in key, though? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜… I can’t even with that. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ญ

    Thank you @andrew kind words. I agree with ALL ๐Ÿ˜Š

    @the_bumble_bard
    I loved your bum ditty claw hammer ๐Ÿ˜. I did Mattโ€™s course too and really want to get back to it. I enjoy bluegrass music. Your 2nd entry was like me looking in a mirrorโ€ฆ
    All the โ€œdrunken Sailorโ€ entries were amazing. @brettboy you give me inspiration and @rafaela wow. @abster so excited for your musical future ๐Ÿ‘, @leslieb nicely done- right there with you!
    I started to learn under the boardwalk and am impressed with those who got through it. @shmu88 excellent, although you hadnโ€™t heard itโ€ฆ made me feel old ๐Ÿ˜† (I amโ€ฆ) @misterbones you make it look easy sooo good. And those that tackled Misirlou ( I remember that too) nice job @karenj (cute Uke) and lhamilton love the electric vibe. @mark1256 your doggy duet was heart warming, nice entry I donโ€™t mean to leave anyone out of how great the entries are. Enjoyed every one of them.
    Thanks RC101

    @leb397, thank you, friend!! I love that style of music, too, bluegrass and folk music, and it’s so much fun to play. I only just started Matt’s strumming course because he has it on his Patreon and I think the course here is slightly different maybe? But I want to take both because the second video is the first time I’ve tried his kind of strumming and yes, boy is it tricky. ๐Ÿ˜… It’s kind of funny and ironic because part of why the clawhammer version exists is because I was scared to start the strumming, so I did that instead, lol. Your take on that song was so good, you did a great job of keeping the timing steady and with those parallel octaves, so hard to do! ๐Ÿ˜ Indeed everyone did a great job. I also really liked @brettboy and @abster ‘s versions of it. ๐Ÿ˜Š

    @mark1256
    , ha!! It’s a pretty beautiful key though. ๐Ÿ˜…

    In case anyone would like to try playing the clawhammer version of Drunken Sailor, I tried to write out the tabs. I think @dianna said she might want to try it. Here ’tis:

    @rgillof – Excellent playing! My only advice is to work on keeping it a little more steady tempo wise. Keep up the great work! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi everyone,
    Matts performance of Misirlou blew me away, so I had to try this piece. Tough but amazing technique, I’m not yet where I want to be, but that’s how far I came within this month. ๐Ÿ˜€
    Sorry, no nice backdrop this time, I think Germany is already in autumn mode. ๐Ÿ˜‰
