@leb397 and @mysticrick Loved the duet…what a treat it was to hear you playing together, and the performance was great! For this month, I chose Kemp’s Jig. As always, I enjoyed listening to everyone’s submissions! 🙂

ParticipantHey, how’s it going? Here is my Jasmine Flower take.
I have to say, that it’s much harder to learn without premium features.
Did my best, and as advised by Andrew last month, I switched to hard chair plus also used a strap to hold the uke for me in good positionJune 30, 2026 at 8:35 am #83367uketime

Hello all, here is my attempt at Cielito Lindo. I felt I could have used another solid month of practise as this is definitely above my skill and comfort level, but I really do love the song and am so glad to be learning it. I have noticed that almost all memorize their song and wonder if you can offer any hints on how to do this, even though I played this song everyday, I still struggle to play by memory alone. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all the entries again this month, you are all very talented!!

Here’s my June submission of Red is the Rose. I spent muuch of the month working on Sakura, but ultimately wasn’t feeling good about it and moved on to Red is the Rose, a song I had posted for a challenge in 2019. Time sure does fly by! I can see a bit of improvement over the years, yet I continue to struggle to focus on progress and not perfection. This is the best of my million takes and I admit to not taking the time to memorize. Happy 250 Independence Day Birthday to those who celebrate.
Take care,
KarenJune 30, 2026 at 11:36 am #83369barborapolach
ParticipantHello my beautiful peoplele,
Thank you for this music selection. If it weren’t for the June challenge, I would never have played “Jasmine Flower.” It was fun. 💛

Hi!
This is my version of “Mo Li Hua”.This song was very challenging for me. At the high tones it was really tricky to place the fingers correctly. Perhaps that would be easier with a bigger uke.
A also had difficulties with the change from open A to Am (3 5).
But, anyway, here it is. 🙂Best regards, Monika

This is my June submission of Cielito Lindo.
I’m glad the non-vocal option was available.😁June 30, 2026 at 1:23 pm #83372takuan

Hi everyone,
this is my submission for the June 2026 member challenge.
I hope it still counts.
First things first: I’m playing a baritone ukulele, not a low-G.
I’m also far from an intermediate player. I have some basic bass guitar experience, but I only bought this ukulele two months ago and only discovered this challenge about two weeks ago.
I chose “Sakura, Sakura” because it was already on my bucket list to learn someday on a string instrument. When I read the challenge description, it felt like the right moment to try it, so I went for it.
This is the first song I’ve ever learned in fingerstyle, so it’s definitely not perfect yet, but I really enjoyed the learning process. I also saw there will be a short summer break in the challenges, so I’ll use that time to go through the courses on the site.
Cheers,
DavidJune 30, 2026 at 2:14 pm #83373
katazumiriParticipant@takuan – Well done!
Kanilea giveaways usually don’t take place in the summer — that’s for sure.
However, the challenges themselves continue. Sometimes the format or prizes change (you can check the forum to see what was offered last year). In any case, if you have the time and interest, keep an eye out for announcements regarding the summer challenges 🙂 -
