This is my replay of Zelda’s Lullaby. I focused on smooth transitions to the chords in measures 6, 9, and 10, as well as playing the notes above the 10th fret clearly. I’m really pleased with the improvement and it just goes to show that practice really does make progress! 🤗🤙🏼

This is my submission for the March challenge. I’m not sure if it’s really any better than the original. The transition from G to E7 is just really hard for me. I guess it would work if I just slowed down the tempo more. Also the transitions from E flat to Bflat 6 in measure 11 and 12 are hard too. It’s okay though, I’m not done working on it yet.😊

What an interesting challenge! In the beginning of the month, when I was able to re-memorize Adelita pretty quickly….I thought great!…I will now be able to work on the subtleties of the piece….which I did….or attempted to do….and I thought things were going pretty well, until I went to record. Having done this for awhile, recording has become a monthly discipline….I don’t believe I’m nervous anymore…..but something does seem to happen when I press that recording button. After several imperfect attempts, frustration begins to build and a certain anxiety (which @The_Bumble_Bard also expressed……)…..and then I run out of time….(it is the 31st of March already!) and I have to submit something….so here it is…..my not so ready for prime-time performance……..On a positive note,…..I see improvement in my performance, but there is still work to be done.
I also want to add….this is a great challenge, so thank-you to RockClass101 as always….I believe that when we can spend time on the subtleties and nuances of these tunes, we can learn so much….I also think it takes time to work thru them…and for me sometimes a month or two just isn’t long enough. It was great to see the growth and improvements for others….so impressed with everyone’s hard work.
@abster – amazing! clean and accurate 🙌 remember to slow down the fast parts, and count the subdivisions as you play! keep at it and i can see you definitely mastering this piece soon!
@evanjdesilva….if that was for me ( @dianna ) thank-you so much for your critique, and I certainly will continue working on it!

here is my second video for this challenge. Really a cool idea. I always want to relearn songs and then I don’t take the time.
So, I went for “Misirlou”, which is an awesome song, and I love the technique. I’m not sure if you can really hear an improvement, but I changed my technique from thumb to pick (as I don’t have nails like Taimane), and this works better for me. With my fingers I tend to mute the string with the fleshy part below the nail. No flesh at the pick – perfect. 😉
