miztakenParticipantHi Andrew, I have confused myself re. “Out in the North”
You say “The tutorial covers a bare-bones version of the song, while the performance adds a few variations to jazz it up.”
Yet, there are three tabbed versions:
Melody
Chord Melody
Performance VersionSo…. to meet challenge requirements, is it:
Play Melody version or Chord Melody version?OR:
Play Chord Melody version or Performance version? Thanks, Misty.

sgwarrenMember@nthibode Ooooooo that was hauntingly beautiful – I could listen to that all day! (and I just might – there’s not much else to do during LOCKDOWN here in the UK :))
Really amazing job!!May 1, 2020 at 2:19 pm #37487
samash07ParticipantAmazing entries so far! Sadly I’ve been super busy for the last couple of weeks, which is why I missed the April deadline too (it was gonna be a hat trick of entries for me, oh well).
Will definitely work on some of these by 3rd week of May or so when I have much more time available.

smokealotParticipant@nthibode that was wonderful! And the best part is that I listened to it while I was trying to get the baby to sleep and he directly fell asleep! Thanks for that 😉

ParticipantAm I right that all choices this time are better suited for low-G?
What would sound best on a high-G?
Cheers

Here is my attempt at Ain’t No Sunshine! Wish I had 17 frets on my Uke for that solo haha. Forgive my bad tempo especially at the beginning.

nthibodeMemberSolid performance, @shmu88!
Thanks Steve 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it. Stay safe!
@smokealot That’s so sweet!! I sang to my babies a lot (though they didn’t sleep so well).
@oldan_ The only song on the list that seems to require a low-G ukulele is Malagueña.May 1, 2020 at 7:53 pm #37496
nthibodeMemberSorry @oldan_, I just noticed that Out in the North is labelled as a Low-G Lesson — though @annefgodfrey played it here with a high-G and it sounded pretty good anyway!
