ParticipantI actually didn’t get to re-watch @simonalexander ‘s performance again until just now. Wow, indeed. Good gracious, that was perfection. Maybe if I quit my job I could learn that in a month, LOL. But I’m still going to try and see what happens. 😊

Participant@the_bumble_bard way to go!!! That sounds great and how quickly you posted. I might change “mytune”… we’ll see.
Good job!!!October 6, 2024 at 9:38 pm #63979The_Bumble_Bard
Participant@leb397, thank you so much, friend!! 😊💕 Haha nice, which one did you say you were thinking of doing?
I realized I was playing SSS way slower than I thought. I listened to Matt’s play through again and then realized how much faster he played it. Whoops, that was not on purpose. It’s Spooky, Scary, Sluggish Skeletons. 😂😅😂

Keymaster@otzepeng – Brilliant playing Markus! I’m gonna share it today on our social media 🙂
@The_Bumble_Bard – Your change for the B melody was beautiful Rachael. Well done and so fast! Very impressive!October 7, 2024 at 7:16 pm #63982The_Bumble_Bard
Participant@Andrew, thank you so much! It always means a lot when you like those kind of changes, because I’m not always sure if they work. 😅 The first chord of the B Melody in SSS is a chord from Steven’s Spanish Romance and so it made me think to play it more with that fingerpicking style. 😊 Thank you, I was surprised I was able to learn it that fast, but I’m determined to tackle T + F. 😅

Participant@Andrew, thanks for your friendly word’s and also for sharing. I never had a facebook account or will have one, but definitly i feel a bit honored ☺️.
@The_Bumble_Bard, after watching your video i must say, that i’m in the mood to learn this tune also. It’s always a nice experience to quickly learn a song and just shows how you can feel it. In my opinion the “right” tempo is of secondary importance as long as the timing and feeling are right.October 8, 2024 at 9:30 pm #63990dianna
Participant@otzepeng I’m working on Blue Moon also…..thanks for the inspiration…….just loved the way it flowed…..great job!
@The_Bumble_Bard ……..ooooooooooh that was spookily-scarily great! Good luck with the Tocatta and Fugue…….I would love to chomp into that, but I agree it would take me several months before I felt ready to record…….but I love it!October 9, 2024 at 8:03 am #64000willw18

Keymaster@willw18 – Really well played, Will! My only suggestion would be to practice with a metronome to tighten up the timing.
@deadbuggy – Excellent feel Sara! Nicely played 🙂October 12, 2024 at 7:51 am #64008deflygirl

Participant@otzepeng, I guess that’s really true, that feel is more important than speed. I think overall I tend to play more slowly so that’s probably why that happened. The song is 100% fun to play. I think I learned it quickly because I’m pretty familiar with Matt’s style of arrangements because I think I’ve learned his songs the most and also have talked to him a lot in lessons about how he creates songs. Anyway, it’s a really fun one and I loved your take on Blue Moon! 😊
@dianna, haha, thank you, I hoped to capture both the spooks and scares of that one! 😂😅 Ha, very true about Toccata and Fugue, but don’t worry… I’ll definitely learn the whole thing and be able to play it at Andrew’s level in a month’s time! 😉😅😂🥺🤐😶 Oh but I do have a little surprise of sorts of how I’m going to play it which might be amusing. However much I learn this month I’ll share that. 😅😊
@deadbuggy, so beautiful and fun, you captured the spirit of that song so perfectly! 😊
@deflygirl, really awesome take on that one, such an iconic theme! Well done!! 😊 I like the bats you added. 😂So excited to see more entries this month!! 😊💕

Keymaster@deflygirl – Very nicely played DeAnna! I do hear a couple things for you to look into. It sounds like you are adding an extra melody note at the end of some of the bars in the A melody. In the D melody, I would suggest using a more traditional strumming technique instead of only the thumb. That’ll make it easier to play the 16th notes in that section. Lastly, try playing along to a click. That’ll help you smooth out the transitions while keeping timing intact.

Hello everyone,
This month I’m showcasing my new ukulele from Uke Republic that I recently won (thanks again RC101/Andrew/UkeRepublic!) by trying to play Toccata and Fugue 😮
Enjoy!
