I started this month with Wildwood Flower, then tried Duet from the Heart, and finally did Kakariko Village (with a few glitches). I also did the strumming part on my looper, and was thinking to add a guitar part too but ran out of time.
I appreciate Andrew and Matt and the other teachers, and enjoy everyone’s contributions!

ParticipantThinking of you @andrew and any members in the area of the storm. What a mess for some of my friends in GA and SC. Hope you are safe.

Participant@karenj nicely played and the bass was really cool! Great job. I agree this was a tough challenge to learn a whole technique, rhythm, in just a few weeks. Far from the slightest bit perfect but sure was fun to learn and play!!! I played my “new” 100 year old banjo Uke for this challenge. You can watch a description of it in the “new gear” forum.
Great entries everyone. Thanks @andrew and @christopher for fun Sept. Challenge.September 28, 2024 at 10:29 pm #63882Andrew
Keymaster@leb397 & @dianna – Thank you so much! I’m grateful that my area avoided the worst of it ❤️
@swissconsinboy – Wonderfully played on both parts Gregory!
@abster – Another amazing performance Abster! I love your videos! 🙂
@leb397 – Wow that’s crazy cool Louisa and it sounds amazing! Well done on the performance and your technique looks great! As you continue practicing, focus on note clarity and increasing tempo. Keep up the great work!September 29, 2024 at 11:32 am #63884bibilele
ParticipantHi everyone,

Participant@leb397, that was so magical, my friend! That made me smile so much! That song sounds so amazing on your 100 year old banjo uke! It has such a sweet, mellow sound to me and you played so well! 😊💕 It’s also really impressive that you learned clawhammer, a whole technique, in that amount of time, too, along with the song. 😊😅
Now I can also listen to the entries I missed, but the ones I heard were all really amazing. 😊
This month has been really crazy for me with some struggles mixed in but I’m hoping I might be able to squeeze in a very last second entry. Don’t worry though, I haven’t even started yet. 😂😂😂😅😅😅
Glad that everyone near the path of the hurricane is safe, @Andrew, it seemed to be really bad. Praying about that, for those dealing with that devastation. 💗

Keymaster@bibilele – Beautifully played Bianca! Great groove too, you were perfectly locked in 🙂
@kittycatlin – Lovely performance Cat, well done!September 29, 2024 at 4:18 pm #63889grannieannie
ParticipantThanks, Andrew, for this lovely little duet. I thought my fingers would be able to master it fairly quickly . . . until I got to that devilish run up the fretboard, which others have done so effortlessly, while my fingers just wanted to tangle up in a panic, even at 75%. Something else to practice!

Participant@leb397: What a beautiful vintage find! I love how you can see the wear on the fretboard from all the tunes this instrument has played in the past – imagine the stories it could tell.
I continue to be blown away by the talent in this group. @abster, you are amazing – I look forward to each of your videos, as I do the entries from @brettboy – your creative personality shines. And to everyone else, thanks for the inspiration.
And special thanks to Andrew and crew for making this all happen.

ParticipantHi,
This month I worked on Wildwood Flower. I was away for much of the month so haven’t learned yet to play without the music.

Participant@Andrew thank you. Always appreciate your positive comments and so glad you came through the storm. I struggle so hard with the clarity of notes but will continue to work on it. Nerves get in the way too 🙂
@The_Bumble_Bard thank you ! so glad you are excited for me too!!! I am in love with it. I went to my Uke group and showed it off and since we all live in the same area, they loved it. YES it is the BACON COMPANY. They became Bacon & Day Banjo company. Real craftsmen. Thank you for the kind comments on my clawhammer. I hope to try more songs, now that I have the BanjoUke. I hope you get the time to post an entry. Always look forward to what you have to share. Be well…
@grannieannie thank you! I agree, having something with history and being able to share and play is just COOL. I think your entry and successful run, was perfect! Even at slower speed. I stayed away from that because of the run (ha ha).
@abster amazing as always – well done. @bibilele very pretty. Love the piece that Andrew wrote and @kittycatlin love the Zelda themes. I wasn’t familiar with them until RC101 started teaching, very nice.
.
@lhamilton great job! I know the struggle. Well done. Memorizing that piece was more difficult than others, I thought.Wow another challenge wrapping up and great entries and selections. Love the variety @andrew posts. You manage to have something for everyone. A REAL challenge. Louisa
