AndrewKeymaster@brettboy – They are both so different from one another that it’s hard to choose 😂
Kemp’s, overall, is def easier to play. Maybe it just comes down to if you want to play a beautiful love song or a fun, bouncy jig.

AndrewKeymaster@annyuke – Both melodies were beautifully played. Well done! 👏
@mysticrick – It sounds amazing with the effects!
@janaq1 – I remember having to practice a ton for this tune to get the timing steady. It’s def tricky. Foot tapping is the best way to get a more natural feel, which you got!
@monika101 – The interesting thing about a performance that takes 1,000 takes is that each take gives you an opportunity to listen back and to refine your performance. Which it sounds like you did, because I hear nothing to critic. It was very well played!Try recording your practices. That way you can refine it as you practice instead of on the day of recording. That’s a tip that I myself should follow more 😂

AndrewKeymaster@carynjoy – I thought your performance was fantastic! Your timing is excellent, and the notes and chords have a nice sustain to them. Your tempo is around 80 BPM, while Matt’s is just under 100 BPM, so you’re not far off from him. I think you’re at the stage where you could start pushing yourself to play a little bit faster to help increase speed. Try playing to a click at 85, or even 90.
And I’ll be sharing your performance today on our socials 🙂
AndrewKeymasterGlad to have you here with us Joe! I’d recommend starting with the Beginner’s Course and if you need any help or have any questions on the lessons, lemme know 🙂

AndrewKeymaster@gi_gi_ – Great to see you back Gigi! Great playing! I’m gonna share your performance in our newsletter this week 🙂
AndrewKeymasterHi Monika, which one are you working on? The slap/pluck version taught in this lesson, or the one that is used with strumming technique?
This video shows the difference between the two.
For the slap/pluck, you will come straight down and hit the strings and body of the uke. For the strumming chunk, you’ll just hit the strings.
AndrewKeymasterWelcome Monika! Glad to have you on-board 🙂

AndrewKeymaster@planetfink – You nailed the feel and fun of the tune! Well done Kathy 👏
@misterbones – Lol, I loved the ending! Def gonna share this in our newsletter this Friday 🙂
@turbopstros – Well done Vlastimil! I have a few tips to share with you. The first is regarding how you are holding the uke. When we sit on a couch, unless it’s a firm couch, it causes us to sink in. In your video, you can see how the uke is pointed upward, instead of facing the camera. That position makes playing more difficult. If you can, always practice on a firm chair or stool. I’ll go ahead and share a video below that I made for another member with a few tips on proper holding technique. I’ll also paste additional lessons that touch on this topic. Here is the first and second lesson I recommend reviewing.
Second tip, try not to stick your left-hand thumb above the neck as much. Try placing your thumb slightly above the middle of the neck, though for this song, having it stick out a little is okay. This adjustment will help improve your fretting dexterity. Check out this lesson, it talks in more detail about thumb placement as it relates to proper left hand form.
Your notes when you play out of a position or chord have a nice sustain, but the ones you play when moving up the neck sound a little staccato-y. Try to keep finger pressure held down throughout the duration of the notes value to increase sustain.
