jody_hendricksonParticipantHi Uke friends,
This month I chose House of the Rising Sun, it was very much fun to learn, though still only about 80% speed. The harmonic at the end foiled me on every single attempt to record. Looking forward to that lesson in the Pathways course.:)
Everybody’s entries are so good! This has been a fun challenge, as has been working through the new course, thank you Andrew!

diannaParticipantI worked on Ukulele Etude: Hammer-ons, Pull-offs and building speed (though I didn’t build much speed because those hammer-ons and pull-offs were tricky!). Also dabbled with ‘The Triplet Strum’ but it wasn’t ready to record…..but very impressed with @Cyman_t ‘s effort and evolution….Wow! You got it……and I know it wasn’t easy!
So impressed with the submissions…..@anyon1 great job on St James Infirmary……@misterbones loved your ‘Entertainer’ on the banjo-uke…sounded great! Welcome to @Martin_19 your Aura Lee was amazing! @otzepeng congratulations on being in the newsletter…..you deserved it……and to everyone else you inspire me……..
Also, listening to everyone else…..I see there is so much more to the Pathways Program that I want to play……3 months is not enough!
Hoping @Brettboy is seeing improvement and feeling better……
Here is my submission:
One more thing……this was such a mesmerizing piece……just loved it….thank-you to Andrew and Rockclass101.

Hello Ukulele Friends! I almost always choose fingerpicking songs to play because I enjoy it the most, which makes my strumming skills not so great. So I decided to focus on some skill building. I looked at the Chunking Etude first, and then knew I should start a little more basic, so recorded Strumming Song: The Blues. It’s a lot of fun, and makes me want to learn more strum patterns. I was also able to apply the technique to a song I play with a ukulele group, and it was a great fit. 🙂
@uketime and @mickan88 You both did an amazing job on the Chunking Etude…very impressive!August 31, 2026 at 11:06 am #84281worawat
ParticipantHello there, here is my entry for the august challenge

nelsonlin2021ParticipantHi RC101!
This month I continued my journey through the Pathways course and took on the Quartet Challenge with “Misirlou” using the tremolo picking technique.
Wow, tremolo picking is tough! 😅 I struggled with it and am definitely still working on it, but I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I’m pretty happy that I managed to rock along with the band on both the lead and rhythm parts! 🤘🎶
Still lots of room for improvement, so any tips or feedback on my playing are always appreciated!
Happy playing, everyone! 🤙

I appreciate Evan’s playing so much more after trying this song. It was tre dificil 😂
I will continue to work on it.August 31, 2026 at 6:40 pm #84289
anyon1ParticipantGood job @gi_gi! I like your touches of vibrado. It looks like it comes naturally when you play. I agree that was a tough one. For Evan to do it so well at 13…Wow! I feel like another month with it still wouldn’t be enough for me. There were so many little bits/techniques in the arrangement that added to the groove. It was a great one to learn from.

Hi all,
This month I did the ‘Chunking Etude’. I’ve always had trouble with ‘squeaky chunks’ and I’m still inconsistent, so it’s nice to have a song for focused practice.
Best,
