    @grannieannie, thank you so much for that! I will try to post another take of that one with the tremolo once I smooth it out a bit more. 😊

    I found it, my first entry here:

    Ha! I think the main thing I notice is just how awkward, rigid, and hesitant my movements / hand positions seem to be then, compared to now. Still awkward now, but that was interesting / emotional to look back on. Also, my orange uke didn’t have eyes back then (also, maybe I should do my hair like that again…?). πŸ˜‚ That was also the entry that I won my electric uke with! Good times, all around! 😊

    @emiliano, thank you so much for that! If only you knew the depth of my struggle with that, with finishing things. πŸ˜‚ It takes me sooooooo long to finish things. I’m so glad you saw that, thank you! πŸ˜€ I finished that arrangement quite a while ago (I just checked, it was in December!) then didn’t create the tabs for probably a month after that (Matt actually helped me by checking them in a private lesson … earlier this week? But he in general has helped me in lessons with how to write out my own tabs and I also have learned so much just by learning his songs and the songs here, though I still struggle a lot with writing out rhythm). Then, I created a video of it and there were issues with that video, so I took it down, then like two weeks later (tonight) I finally got around to re-filming it, editing it, and all. πŸ˜‚ I am not “fast” or “organized” with creating things. This makes it all the more mind-blowing how Andrew and Friends create videos every single week, or even month, of the highest caliber (and also not total nonsense like my videos). Every week is a really impressive goal indeed! But the things you create are also really amazing and deserve proper equipment (I’ve accepted my current “sound issues plight” for now, but I may get a new little mic soon). Ha… Ukebert knows a few other Spanish words, but most of them relate to food because he thinks about food 24/7. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    Sorry for that block paragraph of doom but I think I’m getting tired, so the rambles really set in then. πŸ˜‚ And thank you so much! I might want to share some of the new songs I am working on here sometimes because I think only a few people here follow my YouTube channel, understandably. πŸ˜‰

    @Andrew, thank you so much for that! It always means a lot when you like changes like that. It’s so exciting when you can apply a technique to a song and it actually works out magically. πŸ˜‚ I also did play through the arrangement without the changes (as I always do before modifying), the song is very beautiful that way, as well. Thank you, though, I’m so happy you liked it! 😊

    @gutoguedes, very lovely playing! I agree with @Andrew that it’s cool how you incorporated strumming and finger picking to fit the theme extra well! 😊

    @dhruv123
    , very beautiful performance of that one! Lovely to listen to! 😊

    @marianne
    , good golly that was stunning! You brought out the feel so, so beautifully. That really couldn’t be more perfect. πŸ’•

    @gi_gi_
    glad you’ll still pop in to see all the entries! πŸ˜‰ πŸ’•

    @emiliano
    , holy crud, that was amazing! Wow! Really, really amazing. I find it funny how keen Andrew’s ears are, of course, to notice the change in rhythm. Meanwhile, my mouth is hanging open like a big derp watching that because it’s so impressive. πŸ˜‰

    @joe150
    , that was very, very pretty! Lovely work! 😊

    Okay, here is my Aura Lee entry so far:

    I kind of explain in the video a bit already, but while I still messed up (because I kept forgetting what came next), looking at the tab, I remember being overwhelmed when I first learned that one (even though I think even back then I modified it for no reason). But now the music itself seems pretty straightforward to me, now I do look at it with new perspective, kind of like what you were talking about @emiliano. I definitely haven’t taken as crazy leaps in skill as you have (probably because I spend so much time goofin’ around) but I feel like I have learned so much through this community, along with the support that has affected me so much, including with my own creative pursuits. Thank you for that. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

    @emiliano, so true! Songs can have very different interpretations based on your experiences in life and with music. Thank you so much for the encouragement with that! Just you asking about the Beatles song is helpful because I do have a big time issue finishing things. Sometimes, I literally just forget that I was doing something. My focus is very, very sharp, lol. I’ll have to do that, it may take a little bit, but when it’s done, I’ll share it here. πŸ™‚

    Quite an intriguing topic! 😊

    I have a somewhat biased opinion on this as I’ve never played a ukulele that even costs a fraction of that price, but I feel like even if a ukulele like that *is* objectively better quality than others (which I’m sure they are excellently crafted with high quality materials) what makes a ukulele “better” is very subjective.

    For me, and others I’ve talked to, there is something beautiful and charming about cheap things. I actually prefer cheaper things – older, “well loved” things – because then I am more likely to use them without worrying about hurting them. Also, if I can’t glue things to my ukulele or smash it on a car door or feed it soup – or use it to fight off velociraptors – it’s probably not the uke for me. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

    Congrats, @leihali and @abster!! 😁 That’s so precious and perfect that young Abster gets that special experience! Enjoy! 😊

    An amazing challenge this month!! Lovely work by all! 😊πŸ₯°

    This is such a cool idea for this challenge, how it’s laid out with the strumming and fingerpicking in “parallel difficulty”! Part of me is curious to revisit Aura Lee because that’s the first RC101 song I learned. I might do that and also try one of the easier strumming songs in my “forever quest” at getting better at that. πŸ˜‚ Also that uke prize is very cute!! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‚

    @lhamilton, thank you for explaining that! That’s really interesting. I’d like to try the u-bass at some point because it’s cool to add more depth to songs, it seems like, or even just to play by itself like that – sounds so lovely.

    @dianna
    , thank you so much about my tremolo playing! I hope you do get to try it, it’s very tricky, but it can sound majestic if you get it right. I’m still working on it though and will continue to. If you listen to how Marianne plays it, it is much faster than how I was playing it, which is another reason her playing is hashtag ukulele goals. πŸ˜‚ I loved your take on five foot two (completely blanked out on the songs name) and it did sound amazing on the banjolele!! I think I get what Andrew was saying about the swing feel.

    @yukulele
    , that’s sounding really good! That’s just how you start with any technique is nice and slow, but it’s already sounding great! You just gotta keep going with it and you’ll get more and more comfortable with the odd feel of clawhammer. Also congrats!!

    @emiliano
    , that was absolutely gorgeous! What an amazing arrangement and you played it exquisitely! I still love that song, but I think it means something different to me with my experience of love, I guess. Anyway, very, very beautiful!

    @mickan88
    , That was so lovely! I always have loved that song because of its nostalgia and the hopeful feeling of bringing in the New Year. You played it beautifully!

    @bibilele
    , that sounded very pretty! Those techniques are interesting, a very different sound and very tricky! I talked about tapping with Matt at one point in a lesson, very fun, but a huge learning curve! Lovely work!! 😁

    @janaq1
    amazing arrangement! Writing down songs in tab is soooo very difficult, congrats on successfully doing that! I also struggle with that so much, especially with rhythm, but it is a helpful exercise. Beautiful work!!

    @leslieb
    , that’s sounding very lovely!! You made a ton of progress smoothing that out! It can be crazy how long sometimes it can take to feel comfortable with a song. I feel that! Beautiful job!

    @jgillard
    so, so beautiful! I really love that song and especially Andrew’s version of it. You played it majestically. You make me want to try it, even though it looks really difficult. Lovely!

    I’m so sorry that I didn’t get to everyone, but tbh, I’m feeling so hungry that I can’t continue (once I realized I missed some on a previous page, lol). πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… Of course @Andrew’s feedback is the best and also others, @dianna especially, have left lovely feedback. But just know that I’ll listen to the rest and I already know they will be great! Amazing work by all!! What an incredible month!! 😁

    @jbmills07, so very sorry that you are going through this, friend. 😟❀️ Your performance was so beautiful and heartbreaking, and touched the soul. No question that Regina heard you sing and play for her. Sending comforting thoughts, prayers, and hugs your way. 😟❀️

    @Andrew, thank you so much! It means a lot that you like that. 😊 I know I was kind of all over the place playing different songs, but that actually kind of worked with keeping the practice interesting. I’m really glad you thought the high G version worked! 😁

    And thank you @marianne, I look forward to learning the rest of your lovely tune! 😊

    @lhamilton
    , that’s really cool! I look forward to hearing you play that more in upcoming tunes, too. 😊 I think I know what you mean by the strings are tuned in fourths, if that means each string is a fourth higher or lower than the next?

    @nelsonlin2021
    , that was magical! I think harmonics can sound really lovely. They are fun. 😊

    @Kasia
    , very lovely playthrough of that one!! 😊 I also see your metronome friend in the background! πŸ˜‚πŸ‘€

    @maryjanew
    , lovely singing and playing, I really love that song! Good luck finishing up the missing parts!! 😊

    @nat-uke
    that sounded really amazing!! The sweep strum and the fingerpicking were perfect! 😊

    @leb397
    , thank you so much, friend!! It may take much longer to get it even faster, but I do feel at least a bit more comfortable with it now, so that’s something! πŸ˜‚ Thank you again! πŸ₯°

    @gi_gi_
    thank you so much, friend!!! That really means a lot that you say that. 😊πŸ₯° Ha, I’m trying to record more things with talking on camera (due to how nervous it still makes me) and it seemed to fit in this case. πŸ˜‚ You’re fun and talented!! (I wanted to write that in all caps but held back.) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… Have a lovely trip! 😊

    Hahaha! Oh my word, that is so beautiful! She looks so stunning!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

    Haha, also such a great strategy to use the metronome!! All you have to do is personify it, then you feel guilty for not spending time with it. πŸ˜‚

    Thank you for sharing that, @Kasia! Glad to inspire that beauty! 😁

    That also made me wonder if my ukulele, Ukebert, needs a mouth sticker, but his sound hole is his mouth. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

    What other musical things can we anthropomorphize? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚

    Sooo many amazing entries, I just want to leave a quick comment on all the recent ones:

    @frederic
    , that sounds so amazing! Agreed with Andrew that it’s a huge improvement! And just generally that sounded so lovely and smooth. 😊

    @lhamilton
    , that sounded so very majestic with the bass! Very beautiful! 😊

    @anyon1
    , that sounded absolutely beautiful! So many tricky movements in that one and you played it beautifully! πŸ₯° I forgot how magical that song is! πŸ˜…

    @marianne
    , that sounded so lovely! Your playing is elegant as always! 😊πŸ₯°

    @rw1950merritt
    , very beautiful playing! It is borderline impossible to play through with no mistakes. πŸ˜‚ Okay, not impossible, but very difficult. You did a lovely job! 😊

    @gi_gi_
    friend, absolutely gorgeous cover! Gull dang, you need to share that singing voice of yours more often! So beautiful! 😊 Open Mic? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜³πŸ˜… I hope you have safe travels! πŸ₯°πŸ˜Š

    @leb397
    , you absolutely nailed that! Really perfect! So much fun to listen to that. Lovely work, friend! πŸ₯°πŸ˜Š

    Okay, I guess I’ll share my progress now. πŸ˜† Oh good golly. I was extra a hot mess this month. So this is what I ended up recording. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ It’s basically an assortment of different things I used to practice the tremolo. Even though I was extra scatterbrained, I did practice almost every day with these things and I think I at least increased my comfort and speed a tiny bit. Still needs work though. This is definitely something I will continue to work on. (Writing an original with this technique was more a bonus goal, but I think I will use this technique more and still try to use it in an original soon.) Thank you, @Andrew, for this amazing challenge! 😊
