Just viewed the live lessons on Scales and Modes – great work Matt! I have some background in music theory but I learn something new every time I revisit a topic. There are so many different ways everything is connected it is truly amazing. I have three questions.

#1 – Should we post comments here, or would you prefer we post them under the video on YouTube (or is there somewhere else that would be preferred)?

#2 – Is Leaves from the Vine from your Avatar Medley an example of C Mixolydian? It sure seems like it to me.

#3 – Not sure how to phrase this, but in the relative scales lesson you took the notes from the C Major scale and moved them down the fretboard using the different modes. This is a great way to learn the fretboard and I have incorporated it into my daily practice – thanks for this! If I took the C Dorian scale, could I do the same thing? If I did, when I played D Eb F G A Bb C would that be a different mode? D Phrygian?

    Thanks for the great lessons!

Really enjoying listening to what everyone has done! Also, a big thank you to Andrew for promoting the Ukulele Kids Club Charity and inspiring me to make a donation – I had not heard of this charity before and love what they are doing.

    I am a premium member.

I’m new to the community and have really enjoyed the courses, videos, and songs. Doing this challenge really showed me the things I need to work on – I’m hoping to see improvement with each post.

Figuring out the recording – using Soundcloud for this submission but will work on video for future ones.

I totally understand (that’s why I asked). I’ll post a video when I am feeling more courageous 🙂
