Happy holidays everyone! Here is my submission for this month’s challenge with Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.
@Andrew thanks for the tips! Very embarrassed about the timing on the first two bars. After learning the notes of the intro, I was only looking at the score for the main melody – didn’t want to have to turn the page! – so I was completely oblivious to the fact that I was not playing the correct rhythm! Easy to fix since you pointed it out. And I definitely want to aim for a sweeter sound.

I am a premium member and I donated $50 to the wonderful Ukulele Kids Club.As always, this was super challenging but fun. I get really nervous when recording so I can’t seem to get through without a few mistakes. Still not as smooth and quick as I would like to be. On to next month! I did try to memorize it and got some good tips from Matt’s lesson on memorization. Thanks for listening and any feedback is appreciated!

I’ve been doing these challenges for a while now and I have a bit of a process for learning new songs. I was thinking about documenting it in a video this month, but the bits I recorded were a bit incoherent. Would you guys be interested in seeing a video like that if I make one next month, though?

I’m new to the community and have really enjoyed the courses, videos, and songs. Doing this challenge really showed me the things I need to work on – I’m hoping to see improvement with each post.

Here is my submission. Sorry about the singing, the playing part was not perfect as well, but I enjoyed the learning process this month all the same. Just love jazzy tunes and I really improved my left hand mute in the process. I had to transpose the song to key of D, to be able to sing it and use left hand muting more comfortably.

I was also thinking about posting some out-takes/cuts while recording my performance video because I hear members all the time referring to difficulty once the camera is rolling. Just to show we members are not alone in that difficulty.

I chose Last Christmas this month. It was more difficult than I thought and recording 2 minutes without mistakes was not possible for me.
That’s why I cut the video together, so you can see multiple cuts in it.
I thought I would be able to play the whole arrangement in front of the camera because I can do it in front of my familiy 🙂
