becky7777ParticipantSadly I don’t have a smartphone, although my camera might be an option.. I’ll look into that right now! I never used it for video before.
Just tried taping an old desktop mic I borrowed (because it was small) in the sound hole, but it caused ear splitting noise if the cord was barely touched or moved. A different mic I jammed in there worked great but it was on a stick and I couldn’t use the bottom string lol.
A friend might have a pickup I can borrow -if- he can find it. If not i’ll grab a mystery one from the music store or amazon. Was hoping someone tried one that wasnt too bad.
becky7777ParticipantHello. Brand new here too, but welcome!
Love the Game of Thrones theme song as well, but I personally won’t be up for that any time soon lol! I didn’t even see it could be played on ukulele or that Andrew had a video for it, so I appreciate that being brought to my attention. Thank you, and have fun learning!

becky7777ParticipantCan’t get the software to clean up the frying egg noise the Dell laptop mic adds to each note I play, sadly.
Any opinions on those pickups?
Sorry in advance for torturing people’s sanity when I share. I swear on everything that’s holy, my ukulele actually has sustain after a note is played, but feel free to cringe at my contributions.

becky7777ParticipantHotMilkTea, on my Fire tablet it doesn’t have any weird noise. Sounds fine. Good job on it too!
I’m having issues after the second chord and i’m playing so slow its more a lament for the dead trying to get the finger picking right lol! I’m impressed with everyone’s submissions!
becky7777ParticipantI never heard this song but found this for you.
Hope this helps a little! The link to the video lesson (under the video) on that site brings you to a video lesson that guy did on how to play it.
becky7777ParticipantI’m a beginner so take my advice with a grain of salt.
I have very short nails. On my strum upstroke a bit of the left tip of my finger hits the strings at the same time as my nail. It softens the scraping noise, but keeps the pick-like click sound. I have no idea if I’m doing things wrong but wanted to toss it out there just incase. My volume is pretty similar in both directions though because it’s not a pure nail on string sound.
If i’m giving bad advice someone please correct me! I don’t know if there is a correct way to strum.
BTW- I think i’m stealing your strap idea. I was wondering how I might attach one without making a hole. So thanks for that and good luck.
becky7777ParticipantThank you RickyMike. 🙂

becky7777ParticipantI have a question, although I’m not sure I’ll be posting an entry yet. Like everyone though, I must admit that ukulele is beyond beautiful!
I signed up as a Basic member. It says basic accounts get access to the tablature for free songs, however The walking Dead Theme brings up the premium account page when I click the tablature button under the video. (Which seems to say it’s taught entirely free in giant red text by the video?)
Is this happening because my Fire tablet is making the website glitch, or is the tablature button strictly for premium accounts and I’m misunderstanding the whole thing?
I thank everyone for your patience if I ask silly questions in advance, and appreciate the help.
