I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER This is my May entry, with Andrew Hardel’s piece Rhythmic Variations EP010, played on my Ohana low G concert ukulele. It’s been a busy month, which sadly, left little time for practicing. Not my best effort, but overall I feel okay that I mostly kept with the tempo and made the transitions as well as I think I could have with the little amount of playing I did this month. I’m not sure my fingers are meant to play bar chords though! Watching the play back, I see that my off sounding chords are attributable to being just over the fret wires. Something for me to work on, for sure. At any rate, here it is, mistakes and all!

Thanks for the feedback, Andrew. My bad for only watching the lesson once! I thought I had to roll each chord. That would have made things easier for me. Lesson learned for going forward! I’ll work on relaxing my right hand too.

Hi everyone. This is my second monthly challenge entry, and about three months into my ukulele learning journey. This video is the result of numerous takes, sometimes getting to the last roll without issue and then blowing the roll! Ugh! I guess I’m looking at this piece as a work in progress, but its been fun working on this challenging etude. Thanks for creating it for us, Andrew! Happy to see so many good entries!

I’m sooo excited for this next challenge! Even without the amazing prize, I adore these etudes, and stayed up till almost midnight last night digging into No. 32. It’s quite beautiful and fun to play as well. My biggest hurdle will be getting those rolls down, but I’m excited to work on them. Can’t wait to get it polished!

Hi Everyone! I’m excited to participate in this challenge. I am new to ukulele, having bought my first (of three!) ukuleles just two months ago. I am loving every minute of it, and am glad I found Rock Class 101. It’s just the guidance I need. Wishing everyone luck in the raffle!
