dirk55ParticipantWelcome Ashley. I look forward to your lessons with pleasure. You also add beautiful vocals
dirk55ParticipantHello Markus, nice to know that someone from my neighboring country is present in this uke community. By the way, you Porshe fans should try a Pinarello. Nice cycling with such a race monster, also in Black Forest. That’s what I do, besides practice my new uke. playing blisters on my fingers lol

dirk55ParticipantHi Simon, nice performance, well played too. And besides, a beautiful song by a man I admire, George Harrison. Maybe nice to tell. George himself was a big fan of the Uke. Every musician who visited him at his Friar Park in Henley on Thames (you probably know 300 km from your hometown) was obliged to a ukulele session. That’s how Tom Petty and Jeff Lynn naturally started to love the uke. Even Dylan had to believe it. And I as an amateur musician too. It is somehow meditative indeed. But as far as I’m concerned that is also due to RC101.
dirk55ParticipantThank you all.
But … (kidding): Teacher Andrew taught me a percussion trick on the uke in one of his great lessons. I had to slap a drum on the top.
Delighted with my new instrument, I hit a little too hard unfortunately. The result: a crack in the top. Now just busy with gluing. Then I will let the community hear something.
I hope the tear has no influence on this once beautiful sounding Kanile’a. We are going to experience it, haha!
Cheers,
Dirk

dirk55ParticipantHi Andrew,
here a suggestion for a uke lesson: A song from the Imagine album by John Lennon (1971) called: Oh, My Love. The guitar part played by George Harrison would sound wonderful as an Uke arrangement, in my opinion. Have a listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3QZVdqUidw&ab_channel=JohnLennon-TopicGrz, Dirk
dirk55ParticipantI would like to add a request here: As You all may know the famous (ex Beatle) George Harrison played the Uke almost his entire life. Why not a lesson (or more) of one of George’s great songs? “Here comes the sun” would be a great start 🙂
