stephencoxParticipantJesus G, you sound awesome! The strumming part is very consistent! With the melody, I would recommend slowing the speed down. This will give you time to get the shifts consistent and get every strum in after each chord change. It will also help the song have a more relaxed vibe overall. Great playing, though…I would consider you an intermediate player rather than beginner! I hope you had fun learning my song!

stephencoxParticipantHey Karenj, Great job on Green Tea! The shifts are the hardest part, but you’ve got it! The only thing I would add to what you are already doing is to play slowly with a metronome and speed it up to the full tempo. This way you will get every shift in time consistently! Thank you for joining the challenge, and I hope you enjoyed learning my song 🙂

stephencoxParticipantGreat job, cornishdpt! It takes a bit more patience to play it upside down like that, but you did an excellent job! Sometimes changing the angle of your wrist a bit allows your hand to stretch a bit easier, but reaching for the melody notes is difficult either way. Thanks for joining the challenge!

stephencoxParticipantHi Deb,
I love that you’re into the U-Bass! I just started a Patreon for extra U-Bass transcriptions and lessons. I put the transcription of my electric bass part arranged for U-bass on there. I also added a simpler, straight-forward bass line tonight that you can play over Green Tea as well. I hope this helps! https://www.patreon.com/stephencoxbassFebruary 7, 2018 at 11:21 pm in reply to: Participate in the February 2018 Member Challenge – Blues Themed! #15590
stephencoxParticipantHey jakeypoo, great playing! All the shifts and higher frets are certainly a challenge…especially since the melody shifts on the pinky sometimes. Practice those transitions slow when you have time, and you’ll be playing it even smoother than you already are! A cup of tea never hurts, too! 😉
stephencoxParticipantKit, I hope you make as smooth and swift of a recovery as possible! Positive and healing vibes sent to you!
stephencoxParticipantHey guys, thank you to everyone that has helped so far! The album is 10 percent funded! Tomorrow I’m going to the studio with Ukulele in hand to record a solo version of ‘Autumn’s Dance!’ Keep on strumming and picking!
Cheers!
Stephen
