Time to dust off the Uke that I have been neglecting for the past 6 months. What a great way to celibate 5 years of Rock Class 101. Congratulations on this achievement Andrew.
June 3, 2018 at 12:01 am #17222chipkkMemberPumbaa, I just got the chance to get all the way through the round. Great questions that cover a wide range of skills. My hats off to Andrew and Mike and I must say I am looking forward to the next lightening round.

March 25, 2018 at 6:07 pm #16400chipkkMemberMany Uke dealers advertise that they offer a Setup with every Uke sold and there are many videos with these businesses highlighting their process. But I am certain many of us have instruments that have come from other sources, gifts from family and friends, and perhaps just deals that were too go to pass.
So my question is “As a beginner player what are the signs or indications I should look for to see if my instrument is setup correctly, one that aids me in building my skills, as opposed to one that could be better with some attention payed to it by a person who fully understands that process?”
Thanks so much and this is a great offer that I am certain will generate many insightful and valuable questions for players at all levels.
December 31, 2017 at 11:15 pm #15085chipkkMemberAndrew by my calculations we are at: $633+$5+$125+$40=$$803. At $40 per Uje that means that because of your idea and the Rock Class 101 community we purchased 20.075 Ukes. Now I ask you, how do we stop at a .075 portion of a Uke? Somehow that sounds more like a promise of a Uke, but not one in the hands of a child. I donated an extra $37 so that we have made 21 children find music at a time when they need it most.
May all of us find the same joy and happiness in the New Year as these children and their families will find through your generosity.

December 30, 2017 at 12:22 am #15068chipkkMemberI certainly agree, at $40 per Uke our donations are putting at least 15 Ukes in the hands of children in need of music. What a great way to start 2018. Nice work Andrew and the Rock Class Community.
December 29, 2017 at 10:13 pm #15065chipkkMemberHi Andrew, with just a few days left in the month how many more submissions do we need to reach your goal?
December 26, 2017 at 4:36 pm #15028chipkkMemberThanks Andrew, great tips. I tried learning that melody using multiple finger arrangements for the chords and notes, and often it just came out as something different the more i played it. Going through each chord or note change and thinking out the finger strategy is a great idea and something to work on.
Do you have a posting on hoe to upload the links to your forum pages. Try as I may to get my video directly on the forum page, I was only able to get the link posted.
Thanks again for the feedback and for promoting Ukulele Kids, Inc. The Rock Class 101 community will certainly help bring many smiles in the new year to children and families who need a smile and an uplifting tune.
December 26, 2017 at 2:30 am #15023chipkkMemberNot at all my best, but it’s Christmas evening and time to post to help boost the video count A Very Merry Christmas to all and may the New Year offer you enough challenges to keep you motivated, enough strife to keep you motivated, and enough love to overflow your heart. May it also be filled with music and laughter.

December 10, 2017 at 8:37 pm #14924chipkkMemberHi Rickey,
for what it’s worth, I too am struggling with the same song and the finger picking. I am finding it helpful to ignore the finger picking and just run through the chords. Then start adding in the finger picking as the chord changes become more comfortable.
Of course you can say that approach is all bunk once I post a video of the results at the end of the month:)
December 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm #14920chipkkMemberI just wanted to give another thanks out to Andrew, Mike at Uke Republic, and of course Taimame for the extra giveaway for this months giveaway. The extra uke arrived yesterday and both my daughter and I instantly started playing songs we are trying to learn. It sounds great and the since neither of had a Soprano size uke this is something new for both of us. A new gig bag purchased from Uke Republic and Taimane’s CD playing in the background makes for a completes the package
All I can say is that everyone involved in this giveaway and with this site truly ROCK.
December 2, 2017 at 9:57 pm #14866chipkkMemberNow that’s just COOL
December 2, 2017 at 5:14 pm #14863chipkkMemberRickey, since this charity purchases Ukes for $40 if you get to make the $100 donation I will kick in the extra $20 so that the donation becomes 3 Ukes for a kid in need.
December 2, 2017 at 10:49 am #14861chipkkMemberWay to go Rickey, that’s a very generous contribution. A very Merry Christmas to you, your family, and your friends.
December 1, 2017 at 9:13 pm #14856chipkkMemberHi Kay, look at the hospital list on their web site. I think you will be very impressed with the footprint this program has not only in US, but also in Canada and the United Kingdom. Looking at the list convinced me of the value of this charity and the impact it is having.
