Hey there! So when I started learning on my own, I formed the habit of strumming down with my middle finger and up with my thumb. But the more I’ve been learning, I see most people teaching to do all the strumming with the pointer finger. Do you think it’s important to learn that technique, or am I fine how I strum now?

Additionally, I see people talking about doing a setup at the saddle or nut to change the action. Is that easy, or even important to know how to do on my own?

Here’s my Fur Elise. It was quite tricky since I’m only a basic member and counldn’t view the part 2 lesson. Had to learn it by watching Andrew’s performance at the start of part 1 as well as the performances of other participants (so thanks to everyone who posted fur elise haha)! Hopefully I got it all correct!

Ok, here’s “In the Hall of the Mountain King”. Or, as I more fondly remember it, part of the opening theme song for the old adventures of sonic the hedgehog cartoon. Enjoy!

P.S. Please excuse the subtle sounds of my metronome in the background haha

I’m gonna have to cast my vote for the KALA Pacific Walnut Tenor. Love the way it looks and the tenor size as well.

    Hey kktisk,

I think the low G sounds great with the etude. It adds a unique characteristic that I really enjoy. Well played!

Took a few takes but got a recording of #4 I was happy with finally. The fills were a bit tricky and took some work to keep them in time, but I’m happy with the outcome.

Here’s my go for Etude #1. I also have #3 to upload and plan on working on #4 as well! Also I’ve hardly played for anyone in person let alone recorded myself and put it on the internet, so this was new and fun for me. That being said any advice is welcome. I attached the youtube link but can also add it as a post attachment if that doesn’t work.
