Aloha
Could you give 1 or more specific warm up exercises for uke and voice that we could do each morning before running off to earn money, surf, swim etc to prep us for later longer practice? Love love. Live Aloha.October 20, 2017 at 2:26 pm #14074adamarkParticipantDo you use any specific technique or exercises for your lightning speed strumming?
October 20, 2017 at 2:35 pm #14075connieParticipantHi Taimane,
I have seen videos of you on YouTube and you are AMAZING! Your performance style is so unique and beautiful.
What or who has been the biggest influence on developing your music and performance style?
Thanks,
ConnieOctober 20, 2017 at 2:42 pm #14076elidanParticipantDo you have an all-time favourite song to play?
October 20, 2017 at 2:49 pm #14078jonboyParticipantHi Taimane, when you play the ukulele you look so fluent, it’s as though the ukulele becomes your dance partner, is this how it feels for you? Did it take you a long time to reach this level.
Best Regards JonboyOctober 20, 2017 at 2:53 pm #14079pepperdog23ParticipantWhat is one of your favorite songs to play to help strengthen your pinky finger?
October 20, 2017 at 2:55 pm #14080manobanjoParticipantHi,Taimane.
Who would you say was the most influential person in getting you started playing the ukulele.
and do you plan on coming to the East Coast in the near future Thanks!October 20, 2017 at 2:56 pm #14081haltman74ParticipantCiao Taimane,
what is the thing that you like most of ukulele and what you ate or like less?Excuse me for my bad english but I’m italian 🙂
October 20, 2017 at 2:57 pm #14082daisyukeParticipantHi Taimane! I play the ukulele, and i’m actually not bad at it, I think it’s something I could really have a talent at (which I’ve never felt this way about anything). My biggest problem is that I play songs from tabs that I find online – I don’t know how to make them myself. So, do you have any advice on tabbing things out?
I have loved your videos for a long time now! It’s so cool that you’re doing this. Much love <3 XOXO
October 20, 2017 at 3:00 pm #14083honuhonuParticipantHello Taimaine, firstly you are my most favourite Ukulele artist.
Especially love your “flamenco” infusions.
Now for my question; Jake Shimabukuro came to Calgary in 2017.Are there any plans for you to add our fair city to one of your tours soon?
The Jubilee Auditorium is acoustically optimized for your style of music and performance it would be a pleasure to all to have you play and maybe record a live performance here.
Here’s to hoping you make it to Calgary in the near future.Honuhonu
October 20, 2017 at 3:01 pm #14084singalto2uParticipantTaimane – I am an Elementary Music Specialist. Not sure if you have taught Ukulele to Elementary Grades K-8 but if you have…what Chord learning sequence do you suggest for young Uke players do you suggest? Mahalo! Singalto2u
October 20, 2017 at 3:03 pm #14085msavinoParticipantHi Taimane,
I’m a fan and a beginner-mediate ukulele strummer. Your fingerstyle method is amazing to watch.
A year ago on vacation I found myself in a music store looking at ukuleles. Max Angel on Maui helped me pick out a nice cedar topped Kala concert (non cut-away) model for my second uke. I love it but I now kind of wish it had a plug-in for an amp. I know there are a few different styles and trade-offs between them. Can you recommend an add-on acoustic pickup? Thanks so much,
MikeOctober 20, 2017 at 3:05 pm #14086peace_trainParticipantAs a beginner/novice, I find myself stressing out, being hard on myself to get it right/perfect, but you always seem so positive and confident. What attitude or frame of mind do you have when practicing and/or performing on stage, and how has that changed from when you were just starting out? Thanks and keep rockin!
October 20, 2017 at 3:09 pm #14087allanwake21ParticipantAloha from Brazil!
You are one of my inspirations Taimane. So, my question is how can i deal with desmotivation? I love ukulele so much, but i always have that one week that i don’t feel like playing, and my progress turns out to be really slow because of that kind of weeks!October 20, 2017 at 3:48 pm #14088louisdsParticipantHello!
How would you recommend an “advanced beginner” who can only practice 15-20 minutes per day spend their time?
Thanks!
