leb397ParticipantMy Heart will Go On is a lovely piece. I thinking playing slow is as hard as playing a more upbeat song. Especially after a villion recordings at 2+ mins. (argh!)
The song choices this month are all so great I want to learn all of them. I’ve fallen in love with Cielito Lindo and the entries. Kudos to all. I hope to do more with the claw hammer but it is more of a struggle.
This is what I’ve got…August 16, 2023 at 4:55 pm #58405
AndrewKeymaster@leb397 – I agree with you! Playing slow is def as hard as playing fast. With that said, I thought you did a really nice job pacing the piece. It had a very natural flow and feel. Beautiful playing, Louisa 🙂

leb397Participant@Andrew thank you. I’m my worst critic so I always appreciate your encouragement. 😁 Louisa

rebecaParticipant@leb397: Sometimes slowing down is one of the most difficult things to do while playing, but taking control of the pace is necessary to instilled emotion in the performance.
You’ve done awesome I can feel emotion in your rendition!August 17, 2023 at 11:46 am #58409
The_Bumble_BardParticipant@lhamilton, that was so beautiful! What Andrew said is so true, that the baritone compliments your whistling of the melody so beautifully. And your whistling is crazy good! Almost impossibly good. 😅
@leb397, that was actually perfect! You conveyed so much feeling with your playing, so lovely. 😊 What @rebeca said is so true too.I have something ready to share here, but I just have to record it, but I couldn’t agree more that recording is one of the hardest parts of these challenges. For me it’s close to the same feeling of terror as someone watching me play in person. But it helps to know that maybe after the tenth take the fear subsides somewhat. 😅

lhamiltonParticipantThanks, @The_Bumble_Bard! I really love the combination of baritone ukulele with whistling.

leb397Participant@rebeca thank you and @the_bumble_bard too, for kind words. (Ditto on the terror 😫)
So glad I found RC few years ago. Playing gives me great pleasure and it’s just for me. Most of my family has never heard me play. This is a wonderful, positive group.
@shmu88 and @morrieuke1 well played! @ccwuke lovely Fields 😊August 18, 2023 at 6:49 pm #58417

bibileleParticipantHi everyone and greetings from our holidays in beautiful Bavaria. It’s so hot at the moment you just have to stay close to the water. 😅 I recorded “Fields of Gold”, hope you enjoy it!

anyon1ParticipantHi All!
Here’s my entry with Fields of Gold. I bought a new microphone to record with and found that it really picks up any small sound. Now I really need to work on not having my fingers stick to the strings so much!
