AndrewKeymasterWe hit our participation goal of 70 members! So I went ahead and made our donation of $400 (including $50 on behalf of Evan) to The UKC today 🙂
This means we’ve SMASHED our fundraising goal and have now raised $1,636 for the charity! AMAZING!
Let’s set a new goal and go for $1,800!

kanae926ParticipantSomeday, I’m going to stop procrastinating and post early…but today’s not that day. 😉
My cat decided he was going to be playful and come make some noise to distract me as he usually does.

P.S. – Congrats on exceeding the UKC donation goal again this year! I love this community. I made mine through my work where they match qualifying donations, so it goes twice as far. ❤️

robinboydParticipantWow @kanae926. I can’t easily access your previous videos to check, but it seems like you’ve come a long way since last year.

kanae926ParticipantAw, thanks, Robin! I’m glad you can see improvement in my playing. Sometimes I feel like I haven’t progressed as much as I’d like over the course of an entire year, but of course, I’m my biggest critic. 😏

ParticipantHi Everyone,
I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER.
Here’s Greensleeves. I tried to memorize it but it just didn’t happen this month. It was fun to learn though and I’ll keep working on it.
I also made a donation to the Ukulele Kids Club – it seems like a really worthy organization – thanks for spreading the word about them.

Fun to play this. If I played any slower, I felt my mind would drift or I would mess up. Got any tips? Thanks

AJParticipanthey everyone! Here are the entries for Page 13
barbecueblack – very good! One thing I would work on is the transitions from chord to chord. Practice the piece a little slower and make sure there aren’t any pauses between chords. You want a very seamless transition for an overall smoother sound. Great playing though! This piece is definitely a bit challenging.
coffeemug – sounds great! Try working on dynamics and tone a little bit more. This piece is very dark, and a lighter touch on the picking hand, as well as using some rubato can really make this piece come to life and give off that dark emotion.
cyukug – sounds very good!
k_rall – great performance! The tempo sounded nice and not rushed. I would just be careful about the fret buzz. For me, I find that if my finger is slightly too close to the fret, or I am not applying enough pressure on the string, I get that same fret buzz. Pressing your finger more in the center of the frets with enough pressure usually always fixes it.
bklynsoul – awesome job! your performance of this piece sounds very fluid. I would just work a little more on the ending and get that a bit more polished.
fred21 – sounds awesome!! your strummed arpeggios sound nice. Great Job!
ealtman – great job! I would work on smoothening up your chord transitions as well string muting. some strings would ring out after switching to the next chord or melody note.
gstriph – awesome performance! very nice tempo and feel! One thing I would work on is making sure that open G string doesn’t ring out after you lift your finger from it to move on to the next note. Try muting techniques with your picking hand to ensure a clean transition!
santai – sounds great!! I would practice making sure that the melody line sounds nice and fluid. Once you get higher up the neck it is easier to miss the note since the frets get closer together. Working on your barring as well as finger placement on the fret can really help with this.
alterin – great playing! For this piece, I would soften your strum, as well slow the strum down a bit. This piece is very soft, so you want to get that tone by a playing lighter, and making sure the melody doesn’t sound too sharp.

This is White Christmas. Fell apart a little at the end but I think it’s still pretty good for someone only fingerpicking 6 months so I am happy with it.
