Here is my new attempt at Moon. While listening to the older version I noticed that I stopped and restarted the piece anytime I made a mistake. Realistically I know I am not going to get through a piece this long with an error or two so I focused on playing through my mistakes, trying to keep the rhythm going. It’s not perfect but I am happy with the improvement.

Hey everyone,
4 years ago I had lot of fun to play Nirvanas „come as you are“. Starting the challenge in 2025 I have forgotten to play this piece, so I want to refresh this piece and hope that I am able to keep it in mind for a longer time.

I’m revisiting the Waltz in 4/4 time. Hopefully I can improve on cleaner cords.
In the midst of a full kitchen Renovation so less time to practice than usual 🤞. Just getting it back into my memory will make me happy.

I’m going to play my very first ukulele challenge song again and improve my sustaining.😊

After changing mind about which piece to revisit at least 4x over the last few weeks I have finally settled on Andrew’s ‘Classical Etude’. I posted it on the forum (showcase your playing) ~3 years ago. Although I now only have ~2 weeks left to practise, I will aim to memorise it, smooth out the pauses, add dynamics and try and play it a little faster. I’ll post the ‘old’ and hopefully ‘improved’ version together if I manage to get it done in time.

Time to revisit one of my favorite renditions on a ukulele by Steven, Always with me.
I still listen to Stevens performance regularly, so I need to polish mine!
Original recording is from Nov 2023, and I looked up Andrews comment:

… From here, I’d put the majority of your practice time into the first half of Verse 2. But I’d also suggest practicing this piece at a slower tempo while monitoring tempo (keeping it steady throughout). Try this approach: work on one section a day. Bit size chucks help a lot for smoothing out harder tunes like this one

For some reason, I had a voice in my head saying the second part sounds nothing like what it should =). Time to work out the kinks!

I recorded Dream a Little Dream of Me in 2022 and probably submitted it for a challenge then. I’m hoping to make it cleaner and smoother, adapt the arrangement to include vocals, and add an intro and solo.

Hi all,
I’ve missed quite a few challenges, but am jumping back in. I’d like to improve upon my playing of Smoke on the Water. Below is my submission from the May 2021 Challenge. Andrew gave me the following feedback back then, “Very nice job on this one! You are playing very well, now it’s just spending a little bit of extra time on the Verse and Chorus to work out those hesitations. You’re doing very well, keep it up!”

So, my goal is to play it smoother without any hesitations. I’ll be using a different ukulele because the one I used back in May 2021 now has a low G and the arrangement is for one with a high G.

I will add that it’s been a while since I’ve played the ukulele and am looking forward to getting back to it.
