    Thanks @Andrew! I enjoyed the arrangement — and knew it needed R2D2.

    Hi everyone,
    I enjoy all your entries, as usual.

    Here is my attempt at “Duality”. The rhythm part is quite difficult for me because of the chord shapes and changes. And even though I used a metronome, there are inaccuracies in the accompaniment. But I’m satisfied with the video editing. 😀
    See you in June!

    Hello 🙂 Real life has been taking its toll on me lately and it’s hard to find a free moment to practice playing, so this isn’t a perfect recording. I apologize and promise to do better next time.

    Here is my entry for the May 2025 Member Challenge: Duality.

    Unfortunately, I ran out of practice time—I really wish I’d had more time to work on this one. This song was a real challenge for me: unfamiliar chord shapes, fast transitions, and on top of that, my arthritis flared up. I had to do a bit of editing to get the video finished in time.

    That said, I’ve learned a lot this month. I even feel like I gained a bit more confidence. It was a lot of fun learning both parts, and I also picked up a thing or two (or five!) about recording and editing in iMovie.

    @janaq1 – Very beautifully played, Jana! I think you did an excellent job on the rhythm section. For the lead, I think it could be a little more locked in with the rhythm, timing-wise. So that’s the only thing I would work on from here.

    @kanique
    – I think you played it extremely well, Dorota! Great feel and timing throughout all of the strumming sections. The only part I’d work on is the outro. Try playing it with a straight feel, focusing on keeping the timing steady.

    @mickan88
    – I thought you played both parts very well! Feel and timing were spot on. Great job this month, Michaela!

    Thanks, @Andrew, for pointing that out that my right hand was out of sync with the beat of the song – I hadn’t even noticed, but now it’s obvious when I look for it.

    Hi RockClass Family 🙂 Here is my best take of Contemplations on my baritone.
    A beautiful piece. Thanks for the lesson and challenge!

    @Andrew, thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words, they mean a lot! So glad you felt I captured the feel of the piece. That’s what I hope most to do when I play music. The beauty of the piece inspires feeling, as well, but I also impart my own feeling into it. That’s what I feel is happening. 😂 For me that’s really true though.

    @brettboy
    , that was truly gorgeous playing!!

    Knowing I had limited time to practice this month, I chose something I had a chance to complete, hence, Etude No. 37. Also, it is a pleasant little tune.

    With little time left this month I decided to go for Etude no. 37 and also as it is such a pretty tune. The challenge for me (as is always the case) is getting up to speed so I thought this beginner level etude would be a good opportunity to focus on speed and reach 100%. While speed isn’t everything and playing smoothly at a lower speed is better, I feel that this time I may have achieved both..

    Another challenge was playing with nails, which I don’t do usually – I kept catching them on the strings and also found it difficult to control the volume. Probably will go back to no nails, as I also prefer the tone.

    Hi, this this my take on Fingerpickg Etude no.37 and my first entry in challenges (and in the entire forum, actually).

    Nice tune and fun to learn!

    @brettboy – A hauntingly beautiful performance, bravo Brett! 👏

    @rgillof
    – Beautiful fingerpicking Rich! The only thing I would work on is eliminating the few spots where there was a little hesitation in the transitions.

    @malku2603
    – You played it so well, Akansha! I really enjoyed listening to your performance and thank you so much for the kind words 🙂

    @akukes73
    – Beautifully played, Ash!

    @erwitt
    – A brilliant first post, Antonio! Excellent fingerpicking! There is one thing I noticed. Pause your video at 1 second and look at your ring finger on your right hand. Hit play, and watch how it curves inward, into the palm of your hand, over the next 5 to 10 seconds. It then remains there the rest of the tune.

    While this tune didn’t call for using the ring finger, keeping it in the position it was at the very beginning will help you down the road, especially for songs that do require that finger.

    Heyho rockclass,

    this month i gave my best to perform “Duality”. A great little tune and also wonderful played by Evan. I did’nt expected, that the cordchanges in the harmonypart are so tricky to do and they are still. Two weeks i had a great “Buzz-fest” and i was nearly desperate … but i got it down somehow. 😏

    I’m deeply impressed by all those great entries this month, especially by hearing @Marianne’s wonderful “Contemplations”. 🥹
