    Hi All,

    I tried Bad Moon Rising. It has been a challenge to pick up speed with it! Here it is at about 65%.

    Hello everyone!

    This time I experimented with “Iron Man”.
    It turned out slower than the original (about 80%) and without speed-up. I give up the “triple slide” in the ukulele part and the 32 notes in the drums; I hope Tony Iommi and Bill Ward won’t be offended 😉

    @andrew much appreciated and totally agree. It’s a tricky piece is so many areas.

    isn’t it amazing how we think we’ll never get it. I always have doubts. Great progress! @anyon1 love Bad moon. Nice job.
    Blown away on those that tackled 6 minutes of playing. @misterbones and @shmu88 and @kanique very well played. It’s gonna get busy this last week. Look forward to more entries. Louisa

    @anyon1
    – Sounds great Adriana! Try to keep your right hand/wrist as relaxed as possible and continue to work on increasing tempo. Keep up the great work!

    Hi,

    This month I tried Iron Man. It gave me a chance to play with the electric uke and record directly to the macbook using Garageband and its amp settings with earphones so I could hear what I was playing. Likely not the best sound ever, but it was fun to do. I’ve had a bit of trouble with my 4th finger on the left hand so I rearranged the fingering it to “baby” it til it settles down (It’s way better now).

    Here is my go at Iron Man. Best I can do for now. I too am having trouble with the waves, but will continue to work on it with Marianne’s tips. Thanks Marianne!

    I could not figure out how to edit my original post. Is there a way to do that? Thanks!

    And also new to Rock Class 101! I started playing last December and am having a lot of fun with it.

    Loved this arrangement of Iron Man. This is my first time recording myself and posting. I had the jitters haha…

    Great job, everyone!

    I watched Black Sabbath’s 1970 video of Iron Man, with a young, fresh-faced Ozzy Osbourne, well before his bird-decapitating and crazy-makeup days, belting out some pretty heavy lyrics (guess that’s why they called it Heavy Metal, eh?). What creativity, playing with a simple riff and taking it to so many new places! My rendition, on the other hand, was still a struggle (don’t want to use two missed weeks as an excuse, but it didn’t help), but it’s the best I can do for now. As always seems to happen, I got some canine percussion in the background – serves as a good distraction to play over.

    @bolognakid: Welcome to Rock Class101 – you’re obviously in the right place. You’ve been playing less than a year, and look you how rocked Iron Man! Look forward to hearing more of your submissions.
