Beautiful submissions. I love to watch them all.

I already did my submission for Jasmine Flower earlier in June so I didn’t bother about the deadline. But I worked on Red Is The Rose quite a bit. In the video you can almost see my brain collapsing at certain parts and I also struggled to memorise everything, wondering how others do it. But now I realised that some of you simply can read tabs while playing ( which I can’t do yet 😉

Have a wonderful summer everyone. See you again in fall…

Here’s my take on Red Is The Rose.

    Thank you, @gi_gi_
I’ll check out these one year zero to hero videos. Sounds interesting. To answer your question, I do sound therapy, so I play a lot of instruments like singing bowls, tuning forks, drums etc. but most of them have only one specific frequency (and overtones) and are very intuitive to play. There’s no tabs or anything to read and follow. I don’t play other string instruments.

Thank you so much @Andrew and @misterbones and everyone for your really really nice comments. Sometimes when practicing all by myself I don’t even realise my progress and I don’t have a comparison point. Then it’s hard to know.
So thanks to all of you for the feedback. It helps a lot 🤍

Thank you for your encouraging words @misterbones
I’m probably not patient enough with myself 😅
I practice every day and I really love it. I picked up the ukulele 5 month ago. To become good at it is a long run, I know.
Just getting a bit frustrated when I manage to play something right for about ten times in a row and then get it wrong again. Or completely forget what comes next in the progression even though I’ve already practiced it since a week and could remember it before.
However what you describe to stop and do something else for a day or two and then come back to it does really help. I experienced this too several times. So let’s keep strumming 🤙🏼

    I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER (finally 🙌)

    Hey everyone!

Oh gosh, this month isn’t easy. My first choice was La Vie en Rose until I realized after Part A that it was waaay too difficult for my level. So I went with Jasmine Flower instead (since I only have a high-G ukulele).

To be honest, I didn’t really like the tune. It reminded me of those cheap Chinese restaurants we used to go to when I was a child in Germany.

What surprised me was that even though I practiced a lot, I didn’t really feel like I was improving. I kept making little mistakes again and again. I also struggled to let some of the notes ring out properly.
Even just to memorise the progression was hard.

Of course, I could have waited longer before posting and practiced more, but I simply wasn’t enjoying the practice. So I decided to get it done and move on to something else 😉
I hope it counts for the entry…

What do you think? I appreciate your feedback.

Aloha friends, great performances, I love to see your videos.
Since I’m a beginner, I also chose the two lullabies, which were kind of easy (although I’m sure there a lot for me to improve like my speed, technique, rhythm etc).
I appreciate any feedback from you to improve to become a better ukulele player.

Oh my gosh I’m too late, can’t believe it (somehow I thought April has one more day).
However I practiced the one finger Etude for the entire month so I’ll definitely share it here anyway.

Great tunes everyone. I learned a lot watching the other recordings.
I picked up the ukulele at the beginning of this year with the intention to spent less time on my phone (or any other screen).
And I’ve been playing every single day since.
Happy to be part of this community.
