cashmpeMemberVery nice! That’s pretty cool you’re able to write a song.
cashmpeMemberWow Simon. That was really good and inspiring. As a beginner this really gives me something to shoot for. I liked both performances with the studio effects. Very cool!
cashmpeMemberHi Robinboyd: Well I’m glad you never gave up on the Uke! I thought your “Carol of the Bells” performance was terrific. I’m just beginning to learn the Uke and music in general and only hope I can play it as well as you someday. As you said it’s interesting how differently people practice. I wrote out my “plan” more of a cheat sheet because it’s seems like there is so much to learn in music that I was overwhelmed. I hope that if I stick with it long enough that I can just grab the Uke on any given day and learn something interesting and new. Thanks for your reply. Take care and I hope you and your family is safe and doing well.
cashmpeMemberAndrew. Thank you very much for the feedback! Wow, you’re right. I didn’t even notice I was doing that. But I noticed the chord didn’t sound quite right. I’ve noticed that for some reason, it is almost easier for me to make a full barr with regard to getting my ring finger over the top of the string. I even experimented with the G chord using the CAGFD (F shape) but that was going to take a lot more practice. I have smaller hands (don’t want to use that as an excuse). I will try the exercises you suggested to see if I can improve that muscle memory. I also felt nervous and tense recording myself which may have also contributed to my left hand form. On the flip side, maybe the string bending will help me when I learn the blues. Haha.
Thanks again…Pat

cashmpeMemberHello Andrew. This is my first ever video post. I’m just starting my musical journey and chose to learn the Ukulele. I was hesitant to post this as a beginner, but I figured what the heck. I chose the recommended beginner song “Our First Song”. Look forward to any constructive feedback. I’m really enjoying the courses and content you have on this site.
cashmpeMemberI think I’m going to take a shot at posting my first video. I’m still in the beginner stage and never posted anything. January challenge might be a good start.
cashmpeMemberThank you Juliel and Andrew for the feedback. I’m glad to hear that I am not creating bad habits as I begin my Uke playing journey. Take care and stay safe.
