My goal was to pick up the ukulele everyday. That was not as easy as I thought it would be, as January was particularly crazy this year. But I did it. The result was that there was more music this month because of this challenge. I am quite happy about this! I also made some little progress on Aerials, although the piece is not finished, and some progress on more recent pieces that I ended up playing quite a lot.

I usually go all out with planning at new year. This time, I’ll try the other way around and keep it minimal. My goal is just to go for consistency and to pick up the ukulele every day. That’s it 🙂
1) Execution: pick up the ukulele everyday
2) Application: Learn the Aerial arrangement
3) Evaluation: so far, 2 out of 2 days this year 🙂It makes me realize that I forgot the “I am a premium member” part. If it’s not too late, could you consider it ?

After a five months hiatus, here is my work on the Fingerpicking Etude 25.
I had planned to switch the strings to low-G but did not do it in the end, so it does not sound like the original melody, but still pretty.I am a premium member.
This month recording was not easy… In any case, here is Summertime. Very choppy still, but the piece is learned, hopefully it will become smoother with time (and further practice).

Here is my take at Daybreak. It’s a lovely piece, thank you Andrew!
As always, I feel like I would need so much more time to polish it, but I am glad of the progress made so far.The month is almost over already. I wanted to get more comfortable playing Blue Moon, and to master it’s tricky parts (the pull-offs, the one triplet strum, etc.). After three weeks of working with a structured practice with technical exercises, I think I have made some progress.

Evaluation
So far, so good. Having a structured practice session made me practice a little longer each day for the last two weeks, which is great!
I feel that I can now play some parts more smoothly. Well, sometimes at least… there are days where I think I have made some progress, but they are usually followed by days where everything feels difficult again. I’ll post a sound clip later this month.
