leb397Participant@bibilele and @jbmills07 both beautiful takes of SOSilence. Just love that. On my list to learn.
@the_bumble_bard you made me laugh. I was enjoying the beginning and then “honk”. Very sorry you’re having a tough month. Life struggles are difficult, sure hope things change quickly. I enjoy when you post. I was waiting too…
@robinboyd you got through it! Sure hope the healing continues
@leihali that was lovely
@otzepeng nice job on chord memory
@rgillof sometimes the simplest are a challenge but I liked it. Love the song.
@nelsonlin2021 beautiful song. Appropriate for our time of year… but it will end soon 😊
Hopefully it got everyone on this page. Hard to do on small phone screen

leb397Participant@akukes73 thank you for sharing. So soothing and melodic. Very pretty song. Once again I’ve learned another new instrument on RC101.
Great month everybody 👏🎼👏🎼👏🎼August 31, 2025 at 8:46 am in reply to: Participate in the August 2025 Member Challenge – Free For All! #75673
leb397Participant@jasdel thank you. I’ve wanted to attempt Cripple Creek a while now. Also extra kudos to @karenj who played it last month and did a better job than I ☺️. I hope you post yours. You are right about so many brain cells getting involved 😆
@janaq1 love it. Such a fun piece to have in your pocket. Nice.
@dianna one of my favorite! Great freight train.August 30, 2025 at 7:10 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2025 Member Challenge – Free For All! #75667
leb397Participant@johanna2509 so pretty. Makes me want to get one to play around with it.
@grannieannie thank you for comments. I thought your Spanish Romance was well done. And your doggie toes did like it too. It’s a long song and hard to keep that pace.
@akukes73 I’ve never seen or heard a guitalele. Didn’t know they were a thing. I like the sound. Very prettyAugust 30, 2025 at 8:32 am in reply to: Participate in the August 2025 Member Challenge – Free For All! #75644
leb397ParticipantNeed o correct the cripple creek lesson and backing track is by Christopher Shannon. Oops

leb397Participant@katazumiri that was so lovely. Never heard it before but I was mesmerized listening to it.
Here is my cripple creek. Few notes, I ordered wrong adapter for my new microphone so still waiting on delivery. Recorded on iPad and uploaded back track all on iMovie. Next decided to use one of the first couple takes. Took stress away but want to bring it up to speed and clarity (as usual). So not where I want i, but felt Michael’s backtrack helped mask me 🤔☺️
Been a good month everybody. Nice playing.

leb397ParticipantGosh some great entries
@lhamilton, you didn’t disappoint! Beautiful playing and still amazed by your ability to whistle like that.
@jasdel I love the slide sound! How cool that is on the ukulele. I just heard Jake Simabukuro play a song with the slide. Very nice.
@marianne so lovely. I had watched Marco Cirillo lesson and was mesmerized by the sound. So beautiful. I’ve tried using my pointer as well as middle finger with the Spanish technique and you make it look easy with your pointer. Love it.
@malku2603 I hope your thumb heals. Lovely keyboard.
leb397Participant@nat-uke That is a HUGE help, full of good info. Especially the tap twice to start recording! Thank you Natalie. I know others will benefit. BTW you are very good at explaining on video 😊👏👏👏 Louisa

leb397Participant@nat-uke thank you Natalie. I’m in my comfy chair ready to practice… I’ll check it out. Much appreciated ☺️👍🎼 Louisa
leb397Participant@andrew having just seen Jake Shimabukuro (2nd time) I think I will enjoy the ROCKTOBER challenge. Jake jammed on We will Rock You, one of his favorites, and I love your take of Ozzy’s piece.

leb397Participant@nat-uke oh please do post helpful hints. Im about ready to record so it would be helpful. Also how cool to ask chatGPT! I’m not proficient in that at all. I’ll look at that software too. Others use GarageBand, I think, and I don’t have that. All depends on my deep dive I want to take ☺️🤔
How nice the couple loved it… I had no doubt.August 21, 2025 at 12:52 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2025 Member Challenge – Free For All! #75549
leb397Participant@nat-uke what a great gift and nice job! I’m so glad you are explaining a bit about the holly land mic. I received mine but haven’t experimented yet. I too want to use my iPad, iMovie so I guess I’ll have to see. It’s not easy learning a new app (at my age). It takes twice as long to absorb or figure what they assume should be obvious. Drives me crazy. Anyway, any more tips, please post. Love to hear from others like @gi_gi_ who has the mic. Louisa

leb397Participant@marianne oh I love that you will play that. I just watched his lesson on Andalusian cadence the other day and I recognize it from a few songs. You’ll make it sound beautiful!
