leb397Participant@otzepeng I love the little Uke statue. Kind of the man to make it for you. Your drive through the mountains to get to Islands sounds enchanting and my favorite is listening to music in the car. Look forward to your entry!
I love how we all approach our entries. So fun reading. @lhamilton really looking forward to yours. 😗😗😗August 6, 2025 at 12:15 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2025 Member Challenge – Free For All! #75426
leb397Participant@the_bumble_bard really looking forward to your entry. Can’t wait to hear your secret instrument! Oh and your “special guest” ☺️
Some get ideas this month. Love the variety
So I was inspired by @karenj and @abster Cripple Creek claw hammer. I love playing my old banjo ukulele sooo
Execution to learn Cripple Creek by Christopher Shannon
Application practice daily, as I do and try to memorize
Evaluation post a final entry, hopefully using the new microphone I just ordered. This will be part of my learning as well.Last, as a bonus, I’m learning Blue Moon and may post that. I like to practice a few songs so this is a back up. Louisa

leb397Participant@lhamilton look forward to your entry. Your whistling is beautiful. @robinboyd what a time you have had 😱😒 so sorry and hope you can build strength to play more.
leb397ParticipantI’ve ordered mine! Should deliver on Monday. I’ll spend the August challenge working with it. Thanks for sharing this product

leb397Participant@Andrew, it sounds like a well deserved break for you!
I look forward to picking another tune to work on. Maybe something slower paced. ☺️August 1, 2025 at 4:44 pm in reply to: Participate in the July 2025 Member Challenge – WIN a Custom Arrangement! #75157

leb397ParticipantWow what a variety. It really showcased the different songs RC has in the library. So impressive.
Great entries but a few comments mostly because I love the song selection.
@bibilele so pretty, River runs, love it.
@dianna one of my favs, freight train, well done and yes a cool arrangement.
@leihali such a moving song, lovely. @janaq1 beautiful. I mentioned in different post our Uke group has learned various Hawaiian tunes this month and your Aloha Oe is so pretty.
@karenj love your banjo Uke. It’s so fun to play. I have to learn cripple creek. Well done
@Riley_ukulele amazing playing on Scarborough! Impressive
@gi_gi_ love the sound and how lovely that was. I haven’t purchased the mic but think I’m convinced.
@the_bumble_bard you do have a pretty voice and shouldn’t be shy. Your imagination always makes me smile with you puppet rendition ☺️👏 nicely played and thank you for my kudos. Btw I’m sorry about your car. You’ve had your challenges and loss this year. I wish for you smoother times to come. Keep strumming (I know your least fav) but do it well. As Matt’s lesson, focus on our strengths.
Well done friends 👍👏👍👏👍👏👍❤️-

leb397Participant@Andrew, thank you. Note clarity is my biggest fault when playing. I totally agree! I’ll continue to practice since it’s fun to play on my banjo ukulele 😊
@grannieannie absolutely, not stressing over perfection with the entries helps. I knew it wasn’t my best but I also knew that the next take, I’d probably goof on a different part. The harmonics at the end, I was sad I didn’t nail because I did so often but that meant I’d have to play 2.28 minutes to do it again 😆
@marianne lovely and such emotion. Love the back story. Tell us the brand of “Carlos Fabio”. I’m guessing that’s a baritone. Sounds so good.
@leslieb very nice. Great Hawaiian vibe. Our Uke group is performing at a luau this weekend with lots of Hawaiian songs. White sandy beach, island style, Maui girl… just a few. Hardest part is singing the native words.Great challenge @Andrew. I love that everyone picked different entries. We have such a diverse group. Again, all so supportive.

leb397ParticipantIt’s time………… I basically picked first song in the RC library. But I loved the challenge of each technique. My pinky and ring got a workout . I really like the way Christopher teaches the 12th Street Rag. I might note he plays it at 175bpm and I think I may have gotten to 65bpm, yikes! Like many on this months challenge, I decided to take the best of my first few takes. All too often I stress over my entry and this one was just plain fun to play. Thanks @andrew and Christopher.

leb397Participant@the_bumbble_bard and @brettboy I started watching it a while ago but stopped. The melon party sounds like a great idea and how sweet you celebrated MD for your wife @brettboy. Great playing,as usual. @TBB, sad you celebrated with a ticket… sounds like a good song you could write.
Some great entries . @grannieannie nice one take job! @misterbones, super duet with base.
Still working on my entryLook forward to yours @TBB, Rachel.

@Andrew have a super vacation or “break”July 5, 2025 at 8:11 am in reply to: Participate in the June 2025 Member Challenge – WIN $2,250 Kanile’a Ukulele #74430
leb397Participant@gi_gi_ I’m glad you asked that question and hope you post the pros and cons. After @otzepeng mentioned it in his post, I looked it up. Price is good. I desperately need a microphone. I use my iPad and often it’s too far away for good sound or background interference. I’m trying to up my ”game” 😆.
I remember you showed your “recording area” a while ago and I was impressed.July 1, 2025 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2025 Member Challenge – WIN $2,250 Kanile’a Ukulele #74402
leb397Participant@otzepeng that was nice of you to share. I was looking online today so I’ll check this product out. Really need a microphone for filming on iPad. Loved your lake/pond backdrop, but you were one I thought twice when you were attacked by misquotes! Louisa

leb397Participant@leihali enjoyed the slow smooth sound of your entry and @andrew comment was a lesson for all of us!
@rockclasser welcome to the community. I love the young people that join. Sad to hear you lost your first Ukulele, hopefully someone is playing it but you have a lovely new one and well played!
@maryjanew your last post is SO relatable. I get frustrated in all my recordings but we stick with it. On the July☺️👏👍Well done everyone. Sorry not to comment on more. You Rock
