Decided to play my 100+ yr banjo Ukulele for Sittin on Dock of Bay. Still not consistent with the pattern Matt used but he did say, keep your hand moving 😁. As I mention in earlier post and @the_bumble_bard and @grannieannie @dianna responded, we all work at different pace and practice. Three weeks ago I would not have bet a nickel- especially after @shmu88 played so well, that I would have gotten this far. Point being- practice does make (you better) 😆
@marianne, so pretty.👏👏. Louisa
Thanks AndrewPs @the_bumble_bard , I can’t believe you can wait so long and then tackle a song. I admire that. Sure hope your dental situation has improved
@dianna, exactly my point. I rarely get to 100% but it’s the process of thinking I’ll never get there and then by the end I surprise myself 😁
I too am working on Dock of Bay. Yikes those up and downs! Hence having my doubts.
I’ll look forward to hearing your entry.
Of course, Sam’s entry blew me away.
I’ll keep at it. Good luck! LouisaJust making a comment after practicing an hour or more. Do others hit a wall about a week in to learning a new song saying “ I’ll never pull this together?” It seems I feel the same each month. I finally can play the song through- now I need to memorize and pick up temp.
Well, I’m still at the first part. I’ll get there as usual.
Keep practicing. ☺️👍🎼@shmu88 that was perfection👏👏👏
You just can’t go wrong with Otis on a set list. 👍🫶👏🎼
Nice may challenge @andrew@andrew thank you. I’ll work on timing and getting it cleaner. It’s some fast finger work with hammers and pull offs. I’ll have to experiment with Transcribe, don’t know anything about it.
Always appreciate your feedback back. Hopefully I’ll have more time in May. April was crazy for me.
Great entries everyone.I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER
One week to pick a song and pull this out of my musical- bones.
Harmonizing C Major EP002
Needs more attention but I fully agree with @nat-uke the learning curve with iMovie and split screens… each time my brain discovers an easier path from complete frustration
I recorded at 80%. I did both parts because I only had choice of 75% on the mp3 or I couldn’t figure how to change so that was fine. Syncing is tough…
I like everyone’s comments and struggles because we share same experiences. You all ARE getting better.
Lots of comments and kudos to everyone but need to keep short this month. Great job everyone. BTW April Smiles is a beautiful tune. I’m going to work on that sometime. Louisa@deadbuggy how cool is that! Love Parrot head blue’s and fact you have life long musical friends! Louisa
@andrew thank you for the positive feedback. My grandkids said it sounded like a nighttime song… cute. Exactly why I love it.
@potter I’m so sorry for your fur-baby loss. So hard. 🐶🫶🎼
@jbmills07 saw your post on another site before on here. Brought tears. Lovely playing.
So many great posts with obvious improvement. Love Blackbird, Red is the rose, game of thrones, Spanish romance, so many
@the_bumble_bard always love your posts because everyone relates to the trials we must master. Confidence is huge. We all want to play well but as soon as we hit record YIKES. I remember my first few posts I’d record a million times but only wanted to get through the song! Then it was ok to get through a song with few mistakes is ok… now I’m working on more perfection but just can’t be happy when I’m recording. The fun part is learning and knowing its baby steps along this path. Bring on the next challenge!Shes so sweet and beautiful eyes. Can’t wait to see her in more pics. She looks young still. I know she’ll get the needed attention and bring you love and companionship. What fun to have someone to greet you at home. Welcome Mawgs to the RC101 family. ❤️👏🐱
Here is my second try at 4/4 Waltz. Far from what I wished for but I do see improvement and know I really need to work on barre chords. Managed to hit my left index finger 😩 with a hammer so still tender when pressing. Glad I have this song memorized. It’s so pretty. Thanks Andrew
Louisa
I’m revisiting the Waltz in 4/4 time. Hopefully I can improve on cleaner cords.
In the midst of a full kitchen Renovation so less time to practice than usual 🤞. Just getting it back into my memory will make me happy.
Congratulations @nelsonlin2021 that’s a cool looking ukulele to add to you winnings!!!
