    Heyho Rockclass,

    here comes my fresh attempt of “Always with me”.
    It stills such a joyful tune and i think i reached my settled goals by playing it. I put some effects over it, i think it suites the song.

    It’s great to see how time and practice effects in everyones playing here and thrilling to hear your tunes from the past in a “new-spring-dress”.

    Heyho Rockclass,

    it’s one year ago that i tryed to play Stevens wonderful arrangement. Many issues left to improve: steady tempo, steady Hammer-ons and Pull-offs, playing verse 2 correct …. best requirements for the actual challenge. I also want to “roll” the chords because i worked for some time at technique and here*s the chance to try it out.

    Here’s my original post from 27.2.2024

    Heyho Rockclass,

    i’d running out of time but i worked hard to get this wonderful tune down and i want to share it. It’s definitly not in my League but absolute fun to play! 😃
    I’m very thankful to be introduced to the wonderful cosmos of Roy Smeck.

    Andrew …. If i see the actual march-challenge ( … i know, what to choose for ) and imagine you do this again in one year i definitly would return to the future with this song.
    I was flashed about all the great entries last month – you all did it great!
    …..and how many challenged this Waltz – Respect!

    Hohoho Rockclass,

    I had a lot planned but unfortunately didn’t manage to edit a video with my furry singing friend.

    The song was definitely a real challenge… and then singing it…😅 Since I had only learned the verses, the tempo was right for them, but I couldn’t manage it for the solo.

    I send warm hugs to the whole community here. I thank you for all the kindness and the great exchange and I thank @Andrew (and all the other fantastic teachers) for this fantastic platform, which keeps challenging my passion for the instrument and thus allows it to grow steadily.

    I’m giving $20 to the Ukulele Kids Club

    A peaceful Christmas and a great start to the new year to you all,

    Heyho @andrew,

    i tried a mad time to post something. Nothing appears here 😰. Time ist running out – are there any hints for me to solve my Problem?

    EDIT
    … It worked with a YT-video, the issue was about embedding soundcloud….

    @Andrew

    Thank you very much for the kind (and honest 😂) words. Maybe it would have been better to record each part separately and not the whole tune, but that was the goal I had set for myself. Now I’ve hammered it into my fingers so many times that i’ll never forget this etude.☺️
    By the way, it was at 165 and not 156 bpm as i wrote … crazy!

    @ryanuke:
    I hope you read this here as soon as possible.
    You took part with a Christmastune but in November it has to be a Fingerpicking Etude – you can reach them fast by a link in the opening post by Andrew.

    I think you can do it in time, good luck!

    Heyho Rockclass,

    What fantastic contributions from all of you this month! Wow!

    I started out learning Evans’ wonderful Etude no. 22. Then I decided to move a little out of my comfort zone and moved on to Etude no. 9.

    What can I say? Now I had my challenge…

    My goal was to do it in one take. Unfortunately I couldn’t do it without making a mistake – let alone hitting the horrible 156 bpm in the third part…

    A great thanks- or friendsgiving to everyone who celebrates it,

    Markus

    Hi Rockclass,

    here’s my attempt at the “Halloween theme”.
    (…maybe I managed to capture a little of the spirit of Halloween… 👻)
    What fantastic contributions this month from all of you. I’m seriously impressed by all the great recordings of the “Toccata and Fugue”. Really, really impressive.
    I’ll definitely give it a go.

    Happy Halloween!

    (this one does not count for entry)

    @Andrew, thanks for your friendly word’s and also for sharing. I never had a facebook account or will have one, but definitly i feel a bit honored ☺️.

    @The_Bumble_Bard
    , after watching your video i must say, that i’m in the mood to learn this tune also. It’s always a nice experience to quickly learn a song and just shows how you can feel it. In my opinion the “right” tempo is of secondary importance as long as the timing and feeling are right.

    Boohoooo all together,

    i could not resist my inner demons and made a take of “Blue Moon”, which i learned more than two years ago. Just love Stevens arrangement, thx for that. The Halloween-theme is in progress and i’m full of bloody hope to get it also done this month.

    Have much fun with all the nice tunes in October,

    Markus

    Applause and congrats @grannieannie!
    It’s a great opportunity to have both, a high- and a Low G. Wish you much playing fun with that!
