otzepengParticipant@leb397: you’re welcome. It was really a nice place at the boarder of the City. I was very happy to watch many animals there: different frogs, little snakes called “Ringelnatter”, Ducks and “Teichrallen”, different Bugs, Butterflys, Dragonflys and more ….
I was very thankful and felt a bit like as i was a child and we had much more biodiversity as nowadays.

otzepengParticipant@andrew, @abster & @gi_gi_:
Thank you very much for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I’m not so happy with the recording; I rushed through the piece (perhaps because the mosquitoes were chasing me?). Many of you give it more time, which, without exception, fits this chilled-out song much more. Also, the video and audio aren’t quite in sync. But enough whining, you asked about the microphones: They’re “Hollyland Lark a1,” available on Amazon.Greetings from hot Berlin

Heyho Rockclass,
here’s my recording for June. I found a nice pond for it – but the mosquitoes were biting me badly… I had the opportunity to try out my new Bluetooth microphones, thanks to the magnet, i can attach them directly to the sound hole. I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality – a real alternative if you don’t have a pickup installed (thanks again for the tip in the livelesson, Matt! 🤗). A big THX goes out to Steven for this gorgeous arrangement, it was so satisfying to learn and play it.
You guys did a great job again this month – it was a joy to hear all those fantastic entries – thank you!
See/hear you in July,
Markus

otzepengParticipant@johanna2509: a wonderful take and what a pleasent location you’ve chosen 😍. Did’nt knew where the Eibsee ist located, now i do …. some kilometers away from Berlin, hehe. For my summer-entry i’ll definitely play outside also. We got the perfect weather for it here right now. 😃
otzepengParticipantHeyho Rockclass,
five days to go to her gig here in berlin. I’m definitly excited and also happy, that my family will join me. Maybe i can let her sign my uke … 😏
@Kasia – we could share our impressions Here in the forum. I wish you a great festival. 🤗A friendly reminder to all WHO want to see her:

Heyho rockclass,
this month i gave my best to perform “Duality”. A great little tune and also wonderful played by Evan. I did’nt expected, that the cordchanges in the harmonypart are so tricky to do and they are still. Two weeks i had a great “Buzz-fest” and i was nearly desperate … but i got it down somehow. 😏
I’m deeply impressed by all those great entries this month, especially by hearing @Marianne’s wonderful “Contemplations”. 🥹
otzepengParticipantHey Matt,
I find it difficult to get used to the sound of my uke when I record it with a pickup. Sure, every little mistake is immediately audible, and the pressure to avoid it increases. But there’s also this “technical” sound – nothing like the natural sound when I record with my smartphone, for example. My uke simply sounds more like the instrument I’m holding and hearing; with a pickup, it somehow becomes a little foreign to me.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a pickup vs. a microphone for you?Mahalo,
Markus

otzepengParticipant@Andrew: Thx for your friendly feedback. The bendings are one of some more issues since i blow the dust of my Tenor Uke and restringed it low g (maybe it still falls out of tune a bit faster as i recognized 🤔). It’s also a long time ago since i recorded everything directly via pickup and daw – you can hear everything very clearly …. for good and for bad.
I hope for another challenge in low g – so i can practice on those issues! 🤗April 27, 2025 at 5:04 pm in reply to: Participate in the April 2025 Member Challenge – WIN $2,250 Kanile’a Ukulele #73540

I really enjoyed your entries this month so far – you’re all did so great!March 20, 2025 at 3:27 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2025 Member Challenge – Rewind & Replay! #66184
otzepengParticipantThank you for the friendly feedback (as always ☺️)I’ve got not much experience with daw’s, plugins etc. It’s more like: “Uhhh, whats that? Yeah – sounds nice! … And this here? Yes – sweet! ….and so on. It’s definitly fun to play around with all those effects and i’m sure, that i’ll use it more in the future but i will take more time and care for “natural sounding” results.
