I very much enjoy my 2nd hand bought Kala U bass. If you make multiple screen vids like me I would recommend added U Bass because the regular high pitched uke can use some bottom.
The instructional bass videos of Stephen are very clear and informative and
Stephen is the only one on the entire planet teaching U bass in videos and online.
I used one of his instructional vids on his Jazz blues video, Spaghetti Blues
That is also tought here for uke in RC101.
I found it easy to play simple pop songs that just require the root, just one one single note every bar. So the step up is easy.
Stephen has easy but also more sophisticated songs on the web, up to you.
So if you want to enrich your uke skills and make your vids more fancy go for Stephen!July 3, 2020 at 4:05 am #39343jinajupiterParticipantThanks for the feedback AJ π
About the list, I had two submissions, not one,
Bodysurfing in cha cha
and Stairway with recorder.
ThanksJuly 2, 2020 at 8:19 am #39312jinajupiterParticipant@maryjanew. Yes sure, with a lot of patience…… you have to have nerdish qualities :). Looking forward to your first video.
@humerosa. Mine is a Risa LP tenor ukulele.
Fanner guitars is from South Africa builds great ukes and ships internationally.
Further we have Vorson from China, they are the cheapest, with some modification by a lutier it can sound great too.
I think they are very expensive all of them compared to a consumer guitar, and I guess that is not necessarily because of it’s quality, but because there are only a few electric ukes on this planet.
You can also change the tuning of a four string electric mandoline to get to the same result.
Steel strings do sounds different and you can make bends.
To achieve the same effect on nylon strings you can make slides.
If you can find a second hand guitar pedal effects board and an amplifier
you can also get distortion sounds with nylon strings and all sorts of effects that can be fun to fiddle with. Have fun!- This reply was modified 3 years, 10 months ago by jinajupiter.

July 1, 2020 at 7:49 pm #39302jinajupiterParticipantThanks everybody, Lisa I layer all audio takes on top of each other in an old version of Cubase so I can decide what take I want louder. But any digital music program like Garage Band that is for free will do. The video I edited in the standard
I-Movie that comes for free with a Mac computer. I use the editing tricks of this guy.

Just in time I hope :).
I made it a bit longer again, added the part in C MAJ to the beginning and doubled the middle part. And played the entire solo. :).
Changed some notes here and there to my abilities and liking, hope that is ok.
Thanks it was funJune 26, 2020 at 9:30 am #39098jinajupiterParticipantWhat I find hard about practicing solos is the right hand, if you start slow you want to play every note with the right hand while in faster tempo you can just pull of or hammer on.
May 8, 2020 at 6:02 pm #37671jinajupiterParticipantThanks Stephen, that is indeed a new challenge for me π honestly no idea how to mute the open strings that resonate along, but I will ask some of my guitarists friends.
May 2, 2020 at 6:40 am #37505jinajupiterParticipant@lisa, just I movie that cones standard with Mac computers. I use the picture in picture mode. I save one picture in picture movie, import it back and add another window into it, save again, import again etc. Until I have the amount of windows I want.
Thanks everybody for the compliments π

May 2, 2020 at 6:29 am #37504jinajupiterParticipantWow Nathalie, just amazing! So much feel and the metrum keeps going. I am ver impressed!
Same for you Brett!April 30, 2020 at 10:01 pm #37424jinajupiterParticipantYihaaa, I found a nice cha cha on YouTube and I added keyboard bass and organ. I actually wanted to play UkeBass, but I didn’t have enough time before the deadline.
I had a marathon of 4 full days to learn and record the song, and am not satisfied so I will improve this song and rerecord plus UkeBass in the future. It was anyway lots of fun to learn, Evan is amazing!April 2, 2020 at 5:19 pm #36608jinajupiterParticipantWow I’m so happy for you Anne, you so much deserve this! Enjoy!
March 31, 2020 at 5:32 pm #36511jinajupiterParticipantHello everybody. I sound like I play in a cathedral because I plugged in into an amp. I didn’t spend so much time as the piece needs, but wanted to submit anyway.

March 2, 2020 at 4:54 pm #35984jinajupiterParticipantYippiiiii congratz Marama.
Stephen the stompbox is just my huge boots banging on the wooden floor π
I actually bended the string on purpose to create the blue note.
Not sure if that is banjo-esqueMarch 1, 2020 at 4:49 am #35941jinajupiterParticipantForgot to say I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER
