Still having sound issues with laptop to opted for my little iPhone, which isn’t much better. Got through one take before getting an alert i didn’t have enough storage to continue. Wasn’t up to dealing with it, so here is Take 1, such as it is.

Time’s up. I’m not proud. Still haven’t figured out audio and don’t have the song down. C- at most.
Happy holidays everyone.August 22, 2020 at 10:33 pm #40495lildevilParticipantCool. Do you stand or have a chair with wheels??? Did you have to get a larger sheet and cut it?
July 31, 2020 at 5:04 pm #40022lildevilParticipantThought I’d learn this on the banjolele just for fun. Sadly, my laptop microphone does even worse with this than with the ukulele. Granted my playing is less than stellar, but I swear in person you can hear the rolls, and triplets, and more sustain. So be it.
It’s a fun song to play – only problem is that the hardest part for me is the end, so I’m sweating all the way through in anticipation! And messing up along the way! Makes me smile, though. And for that I am grateful to all of you for these challenges. Especially the happy songs.April 11, 2020 at 12:43 pm #36803lildevilParticipantoops. try now.

Not proud of playing or recording, but it is what it is. Stay safe, everyone.
March 28, 2020 at 6:05 pm #36449lildevilParticipantI’ve been MIA for some time with all things Uke because, well, life. Trying to get back but needed it to be light and fun. Hence Waltz in C. Plus, it makes for a pleasant earworm the rest of the day.
Recorded on my brand new HP Envy and struggled with microphone (or speaker?) fading in and out, uneven and low volume, harsh sound, etc. Tried to accommodate and didn’t sound quite as bad once loaded on YouTube, but was frustrating. Couldn’t find much in the way of settings. Any suggestions are welcome.premium member if that matters.
December 25, 2019 at 11:27 pm #34632lildevilParticipantHave been offline the last couple weeks and didn’t realize the deadline was the 23rd. Oh well.
Can I still donate to UKC through RC101? I’m a rock star supporter anyway, but would be happy to also support Andrew’s efforts.December 2, 2019 at 10:48 pm #34091lildevilParticipantAndrew, thanks for the positive words and “too hard on yourself” comment. But I must confess I was kinda too easy on myself. I wanted Bohemian Rhapsody as of 11/1, but by 11/3, life totally got in the way. Couldn’t get to playing again until the 26th, at which point I switched to Sweet Child of Mine (for a long time, my ring tone for my son!) thinking I could handle it. By the afternoon of the 30th, I was totally stressed trying to get it memorized, cleaner, faster. Rather than seeing it through, I bailed and switched to House of the Rising Sun. Not that it wasn’t without it’s challenges, but as always, my biggest challenges this month were managing expectations and accepting limitations. Thanks for going easier on us for December!
November 30, 2019 at 10:11 pm #34011lildevilParticipantI am a Ukulele Kids Club Rock Star supporter at a nearby hospital, but will also make a donation for RC101. Will let you know when it’s official.
I encourage everyone with the means to consider donating to this worthy cause which has a special place in our hearts as ukulele afficionados! Or at the least submit an entry this month to not only have a chance to win a great prize, but to hold Andrew to his donation promise.
Happy Holidays and happy strumming everyone.November 30, 2019 at 9:15 pm #34006lildevilParticipantOnce again, I forgot to say

November 30, 2019 at 8:42 pm #34004lildevilParticipantWait! You mean November DOESN”T have 50 days? Ugh. Best laid plans. In the end, last minute submission. Less than stellar. There’s always next month.

November 1, 2019 at 10:39 pm #33340lildevilParticipantThanks Andrew. I do tend to try too big a chunk at a time, but honestly this was mostly about not having time to memorize it. You know, the older we get, the longer it takes! Plus I still think we never quite get over chemo brain. Wasn’t proud submitting C- work when I know I can do better. But didn’t want to miss out like I did last month. I thought you’d get me on being off on the arrangement because I sometimes I was going from 1959 memory. And there was that little blurb at the end – couldn’t help myself. Again, high hopes for November…
November 1, 2019 at 10:32 pm #33339lildevilParticipantThanks @Andrew. I hear what you’re saying. What I was really asking was more how to literally manipulate 19 sheets of music, short of clipping them to a clothesline and draping it across the room. Seems the only option is to learn AND MEMORIZE section by section or we’ll be spending the whole time turning pages! Then once I have it memorized, use the Tab Play Along feature to get up to practice and get up to speed. What makes me think I can do this in a month is anybody’s guess!
November 1, 2019 at 12:42 am #33311lildevilParticipantWould love to tackle Bohemian Rhapsody, but don’t know that I’ll have that kind of time.
Any suggestions on how to manage 19 pages?? I get to learn a little at a time. Seems like easiest would be to work with a couple pages at a time and memorize section by section, but don’t know that my brain can hold it all together?
