rebecaParticipantHello everyone!
I’m super excited to be Taking part in this challenge.
Here’s my audio of “Hone a ka Wai”. I love this waltz and this arrangement and the tutorial is very clear and helpful.
I know there’s still much room for improvement so I’ll keep on practising. I’m happy to be engaged with this amazing community. I’m enjoying a lot all the entries.
Stay safe and play uke!-

ParticipantHello everyone,
now I enter the challenge once more, this time using the Rock Class arrangement of Hone A Ka Wai. Very nice voicings, but it is hard for me to stretch my short fingers over 5 bars on a tenor ukulele. But I don’t have a smaller instrument. Time to buy a good soprano? Blessings, Lars

Participant@taylor22jane that was awesome!! My phone was blowing up yesterday with notifications from Rock Class 101-and now I see why. Excellent. i am still working on this song. The triplets are my stumbling block- i will probably be ready on 4/30-ha. Great job!

AndrewKeymaster@rebeca – Well done! I really dig the rubato you used at the mid mark of the tune (before 30 sec). If I remember right, Chris did that too. It adds a cool stylistic touch!
The only thing I heard that stood out was what I’m guessing is a little stumble for the last walk-up (48 seconds). I’d keep that section steady to match the feel of the rest of the piece. But overall, great job!
@ukelars – Here is my feedback for you 🙂April 11, 2020 at 12:37 am #36794lildevil

ParticipantHello Andrew,
wow, a tutorial video especially for me! Thank you very much for your effort, your analysis and your advice. I didn’t notice I played rushing sometimes until your feedback, then I listened twice – and you are right! I will go on and practice following your teaching. Happy Easter to you and your staff.April 11, 2020 at 1:35 am #36796
taylor22janeParticipant@ukelars What a beautiful outdoor backdrop! I loved hearing the birds singing along with your playing 🙂

rebecaParticipantAndrew! Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it! You’re absolutely right with your indications. It’s difficult to give accents and expression while one’s still struggling with finger positions and trying to project a clear sound. That’s what I’m trying to do and your advice help me a lot. I’ll take it into account and I’ll keep on practising.

johanna2509Participant@taylor22jane That was super cool! I guess it’s a lot of fun to jam with family members 🙂
Unfortunately I have to be my own band, no one plays an instrument apart from me.April 11, 2020 at 11:13 am #36800

Here is my entry for April. First time to incorporate the triplet strum in a song. And wow, Matt is a real master of this technique!
This piece sounds super cute so I chose to play it on Bernadette’s signature ukulele.Happy Easter everyone, stay safe.

ParticipantThis is my entry, and I decided to “tweak” the song a tiny bit, hope you will like it.
Thank you Andrew, Christopher, Uke Republic, and Kanile’a for all of these!

propsfpvParticipantHey guys and gals,
Just got my first Ukulele 2 days ago and I have been working on Day-O. This is my first instrument that I am learning so I can assure you I will not be up to the standard of some of the other performances that have already been posted. I have just finished memorising Melody A, B & C and hope to have Melody D done by the end of tomorrow (day 3). If I can do that, then all it will be is repetition and getting used to the movements, as well as hopefully putting some emotion into it.
Anyway just wanted to say HI and that all of you guys and gals ROCK!! Thank you to Andrew and Matt, as well as all the other teachers whom I will most definitely learn from over the course of my learning, and remember go easy on me, lol.

robinboydParticipantHi propsfpv. You have my respect taking on a song like that as your first song. I’m amazed at how quick your progress has been. I’m looking forward to seeing your entry.
