Here is my Greensleeves. I initially read the instructions wrong, and thought you had to sing all the options. So, I am posting like I practiced – I used a capo to sing it better.

November 21, 2019 at 10:57 am #33754suesbarnParticipantThanks all. I guess I still here Twang and Warble (c)2019 🙂
Maybe it is me, it just doesn’t sound at all like I hear in person.Lisa, I had also tried a cheap microphone, but it didn’t help, actually made it worse.

Here is my November Challenge: “I Can’t Help Falling in Love”
Recording question – I recorded with an iphone 7 – no additional mic, using Garage Band. I tried to turn off the filters, tuning, etc, but it still sounds really weird – not at all like in person. Any thoughts of a cheap way to record better?

And my costume is that of a pumpkin, which I turn into any time a recording instrument is turned on. 🙁
Here is my Sound of Silence.

Is there some alternative to knocking with the thumb knuckle, in songs list Battle Hymn? Thanks.
June 27, 2018 at 2:35 pm #17495suesbarnParticipant@Trmzbg yes, I also thought the allegro was easier!
Andrew – I am recording with garageband on an old ipad mini. I also heard the wavering notes – so tried to record using my cheap headphones with attached mic. That did not help. not sure how else to record well and cheaply.
It’s a shame, because i have the use of a very nice uke for the last week which sounds gorgeous in real life.
June 25, 2018 at 2:52 pm #17441suesbarnParticipanthaha, Just found “Learning Paths” so at least the where to start question is covered.
June 25, 2018 at 1:45 am #17430suesbarnParticipantMy attempt at allegro. Hard to keep it to 120, as it seems easier to go too fast! Also difficult to get wide range of dynamics with a uke, I am finding, but working on it.
June 16, 2018 at 1:38 pm #17352suesbarnParticipantThanks Andrew, I will certainly work on that.
I have a cheap uke, and this week just changed my soft, original strings to Aquila – they are much tighter and twangier than I am used to. I might be overcompensating for this – I will try to work on the attack!June 16, 2018 at 12:31 pm #17350suesbarnParticipantHi Andrew, I’m a new member this month and I like the lessons so far! Here is my attempt.
I know there are some issues with a bit of rushing and a few mistakes, but I have 2 main issues. One is in the 3rd measure of melody B, when I lift off the d to go up the neck, the open c sounds. The second is I can’t get much sound from my slide, whether I apply a lot or a little pressure, or go fast or slow. Is there a trick to this?
Thanks!
