Here is my recording of Etude no 13. I forgot to slow down at the ending, but will make note to do so in the future. I’m going to keep working on it. This was my first time correctly playing a barre chord, in the past I’ve always just used extra fingers. So now I’m excited to try to learn more. Thanks for the monthly challenges.

Hi all,

I tried a few of the pieces this month before settling on Bella Vita. Still working on that arpeggio strumming, and a couple of the chord changes were quite challenging (looking at you, Cdim7!) but it was really fun and satisfying to learn. I also tried it on baritone but like the almost toy-piano quality of the bits high up the neck on the tenor.

Here’s Bella Vita. When I first started learning this song I had no clue how I was going to get my fingers into some of the chord shapes…yet persistence prevails.

This is a lovely piece.

For this month’s entry I learnt “The 4/4 Waltz”. This month has been very busy with work and some courses that I’m doing, so I only started practicing it this morning, but I’m happy with how it sounds. Anyway, it’s great to pick up the ukulele again.

Finger Picking Etude #13
I was so glad to have this piece for April because I really needed to work on it more.
I didn’t do it justice when I tried it a few months ago.
I certainly didn’t have time to tackle any of the amazing harder pieces this month.
I made good progress this time but always make mistakes when the record button is pressed!!!

I had the opportunity to record another video with “the view” so had to give it a go… unfortunately I only had two days to learn and record it!

See my smile of sheer relief at finally making it to the end and hitting the last note with only a few minor brain farts/hesitations along the way. 😀 (I started at sunrise but apparently neither my brain nor my fingers work that early!)
