Here’s my June submission of People are Strange. I definitely still struggle with switching the chords quickly in section D and need to work on it more but happy with where it’s progressing and glad to add this song to my repertoire.
@Andrew thank you so much for your constructive feedback. Haha! I can definitely hear the overly accented strum. I look forward to learning how to do the ‘rasgueado’ strum and really elevate my performance. As for the slide, I kinda did that intentionally as I liked the slide sound, however, maybe it’s a little idiosyncratic for this song?

Yes, I’ve had a lot of time to practise and have been watching sooo many Youtube tutorials, and spending time doing the lil courses in Rock Class and just developing a love for the ukulele. Nice to meet you 🙂@lisadmh I created some as I was playing around with ableton live lite to replace the metronome.
There are also drum beats on youtube you can use to practise. (I use the yt ones to practise electric guitar, though)@cncamacho – Well done! Can you share a video playing it? I want to take a look at your form. You can email it to me if you don’t want to share publicly.

@Andrew Hey I wasn’t sure where else to post this. I’ve been making my way through Billie Jean and I noticed that the onscreen tab gets off sync with the playing in the video. It falls about a measure behind around Part F on measure 74 after the second repeat.

Hello Andrew and Participants, Here’s my June submission of People Are Strange. This recording is not of my best playing of bars 22-26. Sometimes I hit the frets accurately other times well, you’ll hear what happens. All in all there were a number of lightbulbs moments for me while learning this song: string preferences, left hand fretting technique and the discipline of learning a song bar by bar. I can’t wait for the day when I hit the record button and my brain and fingers don’t freeze and the song plays musically.I’ve learned from you all by viewing and/or listening to your videos – thank you. Andrew, your feedback is invaluable. As always, the tutorial was well paced and detailed. Thank you, Marion
@Andrew and @uku_on this happens to me too at times, I just thought it was my computer/internet connection needing a refresh because I have completely confused it, so that is all I do to “fix” it.
It tends to happen when I play something over and over, and constantly re-start at different points in the tab viewer.So @uku_on … just hit refresh every now and again.

@funtime2018 – Great job! I think you’ve got a great base established, so I’d suggest tackling one section at a time and mastering it before moving to the next section. Try a 2 or 4 bar phrase and focus on getting everything to ring clearly while keeping the timing steady. Follow the 3 steps in our practice guide as you work on it 🙂
@simonalexander honestly I ‘m not sure I gonna make it in time! I have a pretty busy weekend and just about two more days to get it down. I understand now why so few people chose the piece^^ anyway if I’m not finished in time maybe I’ll post half of it, just for the fun and then I’d like to see yours, too^^
