AndrewKeymasterWelcome Kyle! I started creating lessons with a $50 Makala, and it was an awesome uke! I used to get comments all the time from folks saying they loved seeing advanced playing on a beginner uke 🙂
AndrewKeymasterNext Friday! Tomorrow will be a new uke lesson, an Eastern sounding piece 🙂
AndrewKeymasterLook into solid tops, they start around $250. Feel free to shoot an email to Mike @ http://www.ukerepublic.com/. He’ll be able to recommend a few 🙂 Tell him I sent ya!

AndrewKeymasterMT, great job on the timing! You did very well playing alongside the click 🙂 I hope you have time to record another one, here is what I would focus on: Practice (loop) bars 12 to 16 in the tab player in synthetic mode, with the click turned on. This will act as a guide and help you get the rhythm, timing, and transitions down for this section. And double check the ending of the tune, so that you have the form correct. But overall, really good job! I think this was some of your best playing that I’ve heard!
Tessa, great playing! Sounds like you had more time to practice for this month, which is awesome! I only have a couple suggestions for you, and the first is that I hear hesitation in your playing. As in, with a little more practice you will have the form better committed to memory. Since the song covers 16 bars in length, you could always break it into chunks and loop them to help commit it to memory faster. For example, 4 or 8 bars looped at a time.
And for bar 15, I’d play the open A instead of the 5th fret of the E string. It should be much easier that way.

AndrewKeymasterAwesome Strings, great job! I shared your performance in our email newsletter this past Friday! It’s really cool to see you do all the songs again 🙂 I thought you did very well on the first song, but watch out for the timing in bars 12 through 14, as you rushed the rhythms a little bit in that section. Try and count the rhythm out along while you play, it will help a lot especially in that section.
Wonderful job on the lullaby medley. Everything sounds great. On the last tune, watch your timing when you get to the B section, as you sped up a little bit (not a big deal). Also, keep practicing the triplet at the end of the tune. Very great job overall, keep up the great work!
AndrewKeymasterWow! Thanks for the kind words 2 times today Betsy! Much appreciated 🙂 And I’m glad you found us! Be sure to check out Learning Paths for some ideas on where to start and what to work on with our lessons. And if you ever need help, don’t hesitate to ask!
AndrewKeymasterThis question came up a lot for the upcoming lightning round video, so I’ll def be answering it in the video 🙂
AndrewKeymasterHi Sean, I sent out a survey in December asking if members where interested in low G lessons and baritone. There was a huge interest in low G, but not so much for baritone. So low G lessons are coming this year 🙂 But, baritone is on hold, maybe for another year as I’d like to build up low G content for awhile.
I’m not sure where to look for that. Maybe someone can chime in with suggestions.
AndrewKeymasterSo cool what you are doing with your church, Sean 🙂 And Katie rocks!
AndrewKeymasterWelcome Rici! Glad you found us 🙂 If you need some help on getting started with our lessons, check out: https://rockclass101.com/learning-paths/. If you ever need help, don’t hesitate to ask!
AndrewKeymasterFirst low G lesson will be a classical piece 🙂 Not sure on time frame, I’m actually returning my low G I just got as I can’t get a great direct recording with it. Shame, acoustically and playing wise, it’s amazing! Anyways, low G is delayed for a bit 🙁
AndrewKeymasterMy pleasure Curly! Excited for you to participate this month 🙂
