cauer2ParticipantI noticed the increased tempo myself when I watched it back. I think I was just worried that I would lose the chords at the end and just sort of rushed through. I did not spend as much time practicing this piece as I do in last month’s challenge; we have 5 little 8-2 and they are a handful. I will say that tapping with my feet has never been a strong point of mine. I had thought to get a metronome at some point, but I do know I am very weak in this area. Good things for me to focus on. Thank you for the critique. I know I’ve read other members comments on rock class 101 but I jyst wanted to echo those here. I think this is a great resource. I am learning a lot, and whenever I want to find something specific there is a lesson, course, or a song that will touch on, if not go deeply into the subject. Really great medium with excellent content. 👍👍👍👍👍. Thanks again Andrew and team.

cauer2ParticipantFor some reason, when i attempted to post the aforementioned contest entry, I was not able to copy the video URL. I am able to view it from the forum on my end. If there is any issue with viewing, i can post it again. ‘Night all.

cauer2ParticipantWell here is my House of the rising sun. This was a really fast song for me and, as much as i tried, I just couldn’t get it to tempo without losing the melody in the strumming section. Anyway, it was a good challenge.

cauer2ParticipantThat was AWESOME Lyndallk. I have been trying to get my fingers to do that type of arpeggiated strum but they are still very stiff. Thanks for sharing.

cauer2ParticipantThat was very nicely done. I think when this is all over, I’m going to learn that one myself. Thanks for sharing.

cauer2ParticipantNice job Johanna. Im still working on the timing for the strum section; its tricky in time.

cauer2ParticipantI feel like the picking section is coming along but, I too, have a bit of trouble keeping the uke in a comfortable place during the strumming section. I always feel like I have to pull back on the neck when changing chords and strumming at the same time. I can’t really get smooth chord changes and keep up the rhythm at the same time yet. I’m glad these pieces are a challenge though; keeps it interesting.
cauer2ParticipantI love that song. I’ve been wanting to learn it myself; it reminds me of a very dear friend who past away 2 years ago. He would have appreciated it. Keep up the good work.

cauer2ParticipantWell all the arrangements look great. It looks like I will be going ahead with house of the rising son, as I don’t have a low g uke. I would love to play the Elvis piece; its such a beautiful arrangement. Both of the others are above my pay grade for now but I look forward to the post of those who take them on. Good luck this month everyone.
