cauer2ParticipantRobinboyd,
Put the ukeless pun together just now🤣🤣. I was up late last night; didn’t have all cobwebs cleared earlier. That was clever, thanks for the laugh.December 15, 2020 at 10:26 am in reply to: Participate in the December 2020 Member Challenge – LAST CHANCE TO WIN Kanile’a #42969

Well, I guess the files were too large. I tried twice already to explain the attempt at this song, but the video probably says it all. I really loved this arrangement Matt; very cool. I wish I had more time to do it proper, but I had to trade that Uke in today for a guitar for my oldest daughters birthday gift. She’s excited so, I’m happy cause’ she’s 15 today, and if anyone has a 15yo daughter, you know what I mean. Merry Christmas All.

cauer2ParticipantThanks Andrew,
I’m glad you mentioned playing the G on the E string. I have been working on fretboard memorization for a little bit and this observation is perfect for me to start putting the things I’m learning into practice. I’m excited to see what it’ll sound like.November 10, 2020 at 10:39 pm in reply to: Participate in the November 2020 Member Challenge – WIN $1,800 Kanile’a #41852

Well, its on a low G and it needs some cleaning up but its done. took me a while to get it up to speed, but it was easier to play on the low G; its so much nicer to play than my high G. I will see if I can get it on the high G in another video.November 6, 2020 at 8:19 pm in reply to: Participate in the November 2020 Member Challenge – WIN $1,800 Kanile’a #41804
cauer2ParticipantYou guys have all done great so far. I’m very close to getting dream state posted. I have the chords, for the most part, I just need to get it up to speed. Keep up the good work.

cauer2ParticipantThanks for the feedback Steven. I had practiced at faster speeds so I could play it more comfortably at the slower, I got nervous when I turned on the camera. I appreciate the encouragement.

cauer2ParticipantNice job Antotonin,
Its a fun tune. I’ve been working on it, but I’m not sure I’ll get it in time.
Great job.October 20, 2020 at 11:21 am in reply to: Participate in the October 2020 Member Challenge – WIN the Islands Kanile’a #41359
cauer2ParticipantHey gstriph,
I notice that its tough to change even the slightest things in playing style. When I had first learned this piece, I had been lifting my fingers on the left hand too high and unnecessarily. When I tried to change it to keeping them more stationary, it took a few days to get it settled. I still feel like I have to force myself to keep them steady; I’m pretty sure that is why I was was too fast in my submission. Nice job and nice uke. I like the abalone on a uke, it gives it a really nice touch.October 20, 2020 at 11:10 am in reply to: Participate in the October 2020 Member Challenge – WIN the Islands Kanile’a #41358
cauer2ParticipantHey, kittycatlin,
My daughters loved your uke. Nice job on the etude.October 20, 2020 at 11:05 am in reply to: Participate in the October 2020 Member Challenge – WIN the Islands Kanile’a #41357
cauer2ParticipantBrettboy,
Nice to see you again, and nice to listen as well. I’m working my way to St. Anne’s reel, but I’m still on ode to joy at this time. Great to see you still involved in rock class.October 20, 2020 at 10:59 am in reply to: Participate in the October 2020 Member Challenge – WIN the Islands Kanile’a #41356
cauer2ParticipantHey Debbie,
I hear a fair bit of difference between the two; I think the second entry was much smoother. Also, I noticed you play a Pono. I have one as well, and I love it. Its strung low G so I did not submit that recording even though I think it sounded good with the low G. Anyway, keep up the good work. I’m thinking of redoing mine…I realized, after the fact, that it was really fast. Nerves -
